It looks like the market is going to bounce today. Like I said yesterday, it doesn’t matter, since I am looking for more. I want, at a minimum, a 4% spike from here. In true spoiled brat fashion, I will have my 4% or get nothing. Should I receive the latter, that’s perfectly acceptable too, since I am a firm believer in celestial beings inflicting black magic on people who they deem to be “bad” or a sinner. Truth be told, it’s a constant struggle, resisting the temptation of kicking people down stairs or people on wheel chairs into oncoming traffic. Some of you losers struggle with drug abuse; I struggle with random acts of barbaric violence.
I am not interested in changing my stocks, at least at the moment, since everything is oversold. I have a decent mix of names that will do nicely on a rebound.
In the event we reverse lower today and wallow in pig shit, I’ll be heading the fuck out from here to somewhere whimsical, in order to clean my mind of all of this madness.

Here’s my humble impression. Yesterday’s cluster fuck, depending on which side of the market you were one was adversely impacted by the comments coming from the Fed official in a speech where he suggested the big banks would need to double their equity Basel 3 requirements from 3 to 14%. Double! Wham the banks get seriously hit. a large number of people didn’t know and when they saw the banks falling like that they thought it was 09 all over again.
Today’s calming nerves story on Bloomberg put that too bed and the lead up was that the Fed was looking for an extra capital amount of 3% (10%) by 2019 and nixed the 14% requirement, so the banks are okay now in that they weren’t falling because they were bust but because of lingering regulatory risk. I think this change is quite important for people to understand. In other words if the bank stocks fall they are doing so for those reason rather than insolvency.
This ought to cool the market;s heals a bit.

Seriously, though, I wonder if deep down inside, most of us believe in that. Humans certainly act as though that’s true a lot of the time. But maybe we need to get past that belief– to transcend it and move on to the next level.
