Hey Millionsneeder, kno whatcha meen. This ancient gent signed up for PPT about a week ago. Trying to appreciate the techniques and am mostly confused. As in ignorant. Anyway, took the plunge on my readings for GLW and am in the water with it this a.m. Hope I have the stones to surface and get out of the pool in time.
Taq — maybe I’m just a maroon, but I was a PPT member for 4 months before I made my first trade based on my “understanding” of the PPT and how it relates to the movement of stocks I was watching and the market in general. Advice is worth what you pay for it, and this is free, but I would commend you to make note of the Fly’s moves under various market conditions, and read/use the user Notes in the PPT. I find RC; PO; Get; Jake’s comments insightful. The PPT ain’t a tequila shooter, more like a snifter of Camus XO.
PPT is reading 3.26, higher than the other pinpointed turning points on the historic charts.

I was referring to the illustrated charts Fly has been posting showing the inflection points. Similar to sports illustrated swimsuit edition with a different TNA.
In looking through the historic daily results, July 15, 2009 registered a 3.38 on the PPT. 3.26 would be the second highest reading, although I assume the historic figures are end of day. The 3.38 was not on any of the recent charts showing inflection points.

VXX is currently down 4.38% today. The S&P500 VIX is down 4.13%. VXX usually moves about half (%-wise) of the VIX due to volatility traders (using VIX futures, which the VXX ETN tracks) expecting mean reversion. However based on today’s divergence from the norm, I suggest getting out of your VXX position. Of course, my opinion may be biased since I’ve been short VXX since $31.
My guy by the Fenway trough says if we break the1007 pivot we go much higher and not to worry unless we breach 1041 then look out below for 945 .
