The market should have closed near the lows of the day (LOD); but due to men with burlap masks, stocks rebounded and melted higher into the bell. This is exactly the sort of tape that keeps me light and heavy in [[TLT]] aka “The Safety Trade.”
I expect to be back in the market, offering “death-blows” to the skulls of short sellers, by March. All of the “stuff” that keeps me sidelined are hypothetical and, thus far, have not materialized. However, as always, I will keep my eyes peeled for such events and try to avoid the pitfalls of letting my cautiousness morph into some sort of weird bearshitter disease, whereby my brain distorts everything into a negative light.

I think the folks in burlap are exactly what caused us to melt-up into the close. Too many nervous bears means short covering rallies on the least bit of strength. The bears are fully committed, no new money to short with. Until we get some real news to force real selling the direction is up.

Dude, like I was cooking duck ragu the other night and I went to speed chop thyme and I looked over and totally saw a rising wedge over in the ragu. I thought, “FUCK,” these are overcooked conditions. Then I saw on the television that the MACDonalds commercial was getting quieter, LIKE LOWER VOLUME!!!! After watching the pasta move .618 inches down and then retrace .382 inches BACK UP (!) the Le Creuset pot, I knew the food was absolutely without a question done, scientifically. It was so obvious. THAT’S how a chef cooks like a professional.

In the meantime, I looked at TLT per your suggestion. I know you do not believe in such things, but I likey the positive momentum divergence; double bottom in price first at 89ish late Dec/early Jan and then again in mid-Feb while momentum (MACD) made a much higher low on the second part of the price double bottom as compared to the first. Might have to start a position on a move towards $93.
