I have been a fan of Ibankcoin from the old days (5+ years) and have never seen you prognosticate future market direction as much as you have the past 2 weeks. I have always seen you as a trend trader that neither catches the top or bottom of extended moves. In fact, you tend to give back a chunk of your profits after riding in one direction for some time, switch, and then go the other way for an extended period of time. It’s different here. Did you dust of the Time Machine and take ‘er for a spin? The most troubling part is that you are making friends out there with FAZgots. Your fortelling the future and being in 50%+ cash and not shorting is a head scratcher – a new side of the Fly if you will. I truely find this entertaining.

IMHO, The Fly is forecasting a change and adapting to the changing conditons as he sees them…It is the spine of all “good” money managers”. Even ones that travel in space…

Bingo. Le Fly makes a big deal about Hugh Hendry being “wrong” for so long, but that fact merely reflects upon the magnitude of the pricing distortions that have yet to correct. It is easy for Le Fly to serve roast crow, but his risk profile was likely far higher than what he imagined it to be during this nearly toasted bear market rally.
However, if Le Fly gets on the BBC to debate Stiglitz, I’ll be sure to tune in.

Olympic Hockey is a Joke. They have to win 6 games for a gold medal, 4 teams are the only contenders at that. Also I believe the coutries don’t even have to qualify for the olympics, if your sweden, canada, etc your in the olympics.
Mens downhill as about 30 racers in it for example, with bottom to top 1.5 seconds apart, top ten about .3 of a second apart
I think hockey must be the least represented sport at the whole games.

Olympic hockey is hardly a “non-event” from a political and economic perspective. From a sports perspective, I agree, it’s a joke. However, take a look at the impact from the 1980 team on the psyche of America and the Soviet Union. This was in the face of the single best performance by a winter Olympian of all-time. Americans were so enthralled by the politics of the day, that we ignored the astronomical achievements of Eric Heiden. The man’s achievements were on par with Michael Phelps, yet no one remembers it.
Of course people remember it. He was on the cover of Time w. five medals on his chest.
It’ just that speed skating is not a popular as hockey in America.
Not like the Netherlands, where it’s the opposite, and that coach’s house is prolly firebombed right now.

Olympic hockey has been fucking awesome, so many competitive games. Switzerland took Canada to a shootout, USA beat Canada in one of the best games ever. There have only been a couple of blowouts such as Canada-GER and Canada-RUS.
I agree that it is not anywhere on the same level as the World Cup of soccer but that is fairly obvious. These are the best players in the World and they are playing their heart out, not to mention that Olympic rules make for a much more fluid and exciting game than NHL rules, and no commercial breaks helps the players stay in rhythm. I hope the medal round is as good as the previous games.
