After a long and hard day working as a Sandwich Artisan at the world renowned Subway Delicatessen, I like to come home to my 9th floor walk-up on 167th street and try to relax a little. I start out by hand copying charts to poster board, pinning them to the wall, and then hurling handfuls of cooked linguine at them (I make a big batch on Sunday nights and keep it in the fridge to save time.) I make most of my investment decisions this way and it has been accurate about 50% of the time give or take, so I am pretty happy with it and will continue to develop my system.
I tried to start a blog with my trading and investment advice but couldn’t figure out how to do it, so I just started writing on the walls next to the charts. That being said, if anyone would like to come over and read my walls and maybe write some comments on them you are more than welcome to. Also, you may help yourself to as much pasta as you’d like.

i looked at tlt and ief last aug when i was convinced the market was done. ief intrigued me more than tlt simply because so many people were short the 10yr vs the 30yr. the stories about 10yr shorts were amazing and thus it was surely an easy buy for the contrarian.
thus, the lure of tlt or ief is a parking spot that might possibly, if we are lucky, increase if the market decreases as people “rush to safety.” i could never convince myself of this and stayed away.
was this more an instance of an ever-ascending market? maybe. will it be different this time? possibly. we are not below the 200day so you can’t short. a rush to safety is the same as “we believe in deflation” so i actually prefer the surety of cash vs a presumed bond etf.
so i stay away from yet another flawed etf and stick with cash. just like last year’s fly taught me.
