Sorry Fly, but the dollar will not slide significantly until the government is forced to print massive amounts of dollars via a double dip. The government doesn’t want to hyper-inflate just yet. Yes, the end-game will be hyper inflation, but I can’t see how we will do it in the current market scenario. I will be forced to reconsider, only if the S&P gets over the 1100 level for several sessions. Until we reach that level, I am adding to short positions.
One other thing you may be interested in. Apparently, Iran has a surprise for the world on February 11. They have been claiming that something will be announced that will shock the West on that day. The national news channels have not been talking about it, but it’s all over international media on the internet. I have no idea what the announcement will be, nor what the impact on the markets will be. However, my guess is that this will not be your usual “non-event.” The Iranians know how to get our goat, and I doubt they would set a huge expectation of a major event unless it really was going to be major.
As posted last week in the PPT, they will announce all 7-Eleven’s to be closed on Feb 11. $SPX will sell off 5% on the news because that will surely put us back in the throws of a Depression.
