The melodrama is in full swing today, as stupid men with Tea Party of the brain syndrome sell their stocks because “it’s all coming to an end.” The violins play loudly, while oversized gorillas speak in banana tongue on CNBC and Bloomberg to a hermaphrodite crowd, who prefer to fuck themselves, rather than take what’s rightfully theirs.
There is no point in trying to time the market in the short term, at least for now. Just pick a team, put on the uniform, and play the game. No bitching. No complaints. Just play.
If shorting stocks is your game plan, understand your task is heavy and bold. Execute your trades, as if you were walking on egg shells and do so in moderation. If you are bullish, try to avoid the laggards that do not attract “end of year fuck you money” from our brilliant money managers. If you are interested in making end of year money, make sure to invest in what is working and sell them quickly.
Once 2010 comes all bets are off. I would not be surprised to see a 10% drop in the first week of 2010, considering how far we have come in 2009. Eventually, the market is going to grind for a bit, frustrating lots of amateurs in the process. Lucky for me, I am no amateur.
No. “The Fly” banks coin on a consistent basis because he is SAM (space alien magician). You should not fuck with me, if you know what’s good for yourself.
At any rate, into the bell, I like China Digital TV Holding Co., Ltd. [[STV]] , [[YONG]] and Century Aluminum Company [[CENX]] .

That’s some kickass fiddle playing. I think that may even be a Sagitarrius fiddle.
And that’s Lenny Bernstein at the wheel, no?

Nice post, thanks Master Fly.
Feelin lucky? Try some AGQ – you know silver is going to bounce soon. Or, just buy some FLY (the stock). Send me money and I will save some polar bears by planting trees in the hot arctic – the bears need cover from the hot sun – really.
Without context:
14,000 to 10,000 was fundamental.
10,000 to 6,500 was panic
6,500 to 10,000 was post-panic recovery…essentially arbitrage
10,000 to 14,000 (and beyond) will be fundamental.
Chill out. Unless you need to buy a Ferrari, a bullshit education for your kid, or a “small business” in the next 6 months, this is a zero-downside investor’s market.
No need to change your investment commentary with each 50 points on the Dow. “Eat a sandwich” as they say.
Oh, the agony!
I respect the Fly’s analysis, and you can’t argue when he throws pizza to the face of the naysayers of the hot kind. What won me, however, was Chairman Kaga. You sir, are one three three seven.
Market totally flat and still had an excellent day. Thanks NVDA; I guess people just want to buy stocks.
What a post!
Clear, concise, and on-the-money advice!
BTW, S was a great ride after 10:30 !!!

GMCR
looks like its gon lose 3 bucks
i am starting to doubt my GMCR purchase….bought at 64, heddged at 60….fully expecting this bugger to nestle right in at 60 for OE for the maximum possible loss.
I dunno…i believe in the power of semi-instant high grade marriage saving coffee, but this acquisition situation is trying my patience.
Charts say 55 is a good buy point
excellent post thanks MR FLY, new member, ps Just got fired Bitch

Will test even the vocabulary of the Fly.
These people do not have anything that resembles a functioning brain.
I was talking to a friend this weekend. I asked him how everything was going. He said he was “semi-retired”.
I commented he must be doing really well for himself to not even be forty. He replied he hasn’t worked full time for a year and a half, has moved his family in with his parents and has quit paying for car, life, medical insurance, credit cards, etc… basically everything to stretch out what savings he has left.
More and more people are “semi-retired” every day. Perhaps the government should spin it like that.
That’s crazy and sad but not unusual
Production where I am is ramping and managers are doing their best to hold off hiring but it’s not going to last long.
What line of production? We’ve got a steel plant here and they are still way down at or below 60% capacity. The tire plant here is holding its own. No layoffs there in a long time. They’re unionized though. Mercedes is opening a new sedan production line to go along with the M class here too.
The $ is sooo cheap that foreign producers are transferring ops to the US ? First the Japs and now the Krauts … next thing ya know the Indians will be making Jags here and the Chinese subs!
Strangely enough, one of TATAs ex-execs was looking to build a plant in Mobile to produce a small, cheap car. Buyin shares were in the $500,000 range. Private financing has to be tough in the current environment .
Where is the dollar going and what will the gold miners do as a result? Check it out in Jots & Blots on Dollar Gold.

Kevin Ferry on CNBC @ 6:30am: Big money is moving out of gold and oil and into coffee. Coffee is #2 traded commodity.
GMCR: The Fly wins again.
Increased coffee prices do not necessarily indicate better future sales for coffee makers. In fact, logic points to the opposite.
Just being devil’s advocate, of course, as this Keurig thing is more a fad purchase than anything else.

Jake:
I was just fulfilling my daily quota of writing “The Fly wins again”. That’s all.
Understood.

strong dollar rally means printing press will be working OT through the Holidays. WWGLP (worldwide global liquidity pump) looks like it will continue. Bad numbers in Germany may be interpreted as rates staying low.
