iBankCoin Presents: The Power Dip System (PDS)

Woodshedder may not be the most prolific blogger on iBC, but he knows his system trading like I know how to walk like a Space Alien Magician (SAM), mainly because I am one.

With the help of Jeremy (IT guy/COO of iBankcoin Heavy Industries), we’ve developed an automated system that uses Wood’s back testing skills to select stocks which have a high likelihood of bouncing, with the added value of telling you (the internet leech) where to exit said picks. I’ve been using his system, along with my other methods, and I am thoroughly impressed. It is clean, easy to use, professional and effective.

My guess, after Jeremy is done with hacking into some Russian missile silos in Siberia, we’ll be ready to launch this product within a week. As always, pricing will be extraordinarily affordable, as iBC tends to cater to the poor/desolate demographic of the internets.

If you have any questions, feel free to quiz Woodshedder on this thread, or pest him via email: woodshedder_blogspot at yahoo.com.

Le Fly, this should be included in the PPT. Follow the Microsoft model of having 1 star product (windows) and bundling/integrating everything else with it. It’s the easy way to success.

Fly and crew don’t know jack…….

I have stumbled across the true and nearly fail proof indicator and predikticator of S&P performance. Only missed once in 30 years. THE SPORTS ILLUSTRATED COVER MODEL PREDIKTICATOR!!!!!!!!!!!

“Between 1978 and 2008, the average return of the S&P 500 was 10.5%; when the cover model was American, the average annual return of the S&P 500 was 13.9%. When the cover model was non-American, the average annual return for the S&P 500 was 7.2%. However, the best performing year for the S&P 500 was 34.1% in 1997, when a Czech model graced the Sports Illustrated cover.”

Well at least it’s good for something………

Arming Goldman with Pistols against the Public

“The bailout was meant to keep the curtain drawn on the way the rich make money, not from the free market, but from the lack of one. Goldman Sachs blew its cover when the firm’s revenue from trading reached a record $27 billion in the first nine months of this year, and a public that was writhing in financial agony caught on that the profits earned on taxpayer capital were going to pay employee bonuses.”

“And if the proles really do appear brandishing pitchforks at the doors of Park Avenue and the gates of Round Hill Road, you can be sure that the Goldman guys and their families will be holed up in their safe rooms with their firearms. If nothing else, that pistol permit might go part way toward explaining why they won’t be standing outside with the rest of the crowd, broke and humiliated, saying, “Damn, I was on the wrong side of a trade with Goldman again.” ”

A February 104 Put is an option that lets you sell 100 shares at $104 of said stock. Basically, they’re betting on a market retreat because the stock is at 111+ right now.

Fuck those metal commodities. I’ve posted here over the past few weeks how ethanol has been SOARING on little news, but now it’s come out that ethanol blends can reach 15%. GPRE, MGPI, IPSU, ANDE, PEIX. For me, I’ll take the MGPI for an appetizer and ANDE for the entree.

There is news alright. They are pushing to allow ethanol mixes up to 15%, from the current 7%. Should the EPA allow it, the stocks will explode. I touched on this in the PPT tonight.

Actually most corn is to feed livestock. About 12% of the U.S. corn crop ends up in foods that are either consumed directly (e.g. corn chips) or indirectly (e.g. high fructose corn syrup). Ethanol is a much less efficient fuel than mogas.

In a letter to Growth Energy, EPA said incomplete studies indicate fuel, engine, and emissions-control systems in gasoline vehicles made in model years 2001 and later probably can accommodate fuel containing 15% ethanol (E15).

“However, we continue to evaluate the question of component durability when E15 is used over many thousands of miles, and there is an ongoing study being conducted by [the Department of Energy] that will provide critical data on this issue,” EPA said.

DOE expects next August to complete a test of 19 vehicles assessing long-term emissions effects of higher ethanol blends on newer vehicles, EPA said.

DOE has data on two vehicles at present and expects to complete testing of 12 more vehicles by the end of May. EPA thus expects to have much of the data it needs for a decision by mid-June.

“Should the test results remain supportive and provide the necessary basis, we would be in a position to approve E15 for 2001 and newer vehicles in the midyear timeframe,” EPA said, adding that the appearance of potential problems would further delay a decision until all testing is complete.

    Off topic-

Someone should blog about the upcoming Internet bandwidth consumer squeeze. Your broadband Internet access experience will soon cost $400 a month (and that is in Dec 2009 dollars).

I noticed my Verizon wireless USB modem usage is about 290 MB for the past four days. And it is all business, just financial web sites for maybe 6 hours a day.

Once the masses are hooked, it will soon be very expensive. Especially when the Internet is necessary to conduct life, like paying bills.

    The first one’s free…

That’s interesting… especially considering how in every other economic model in history, increasing volumes bring DOWN prices, not increase them.

No, it is my observation. I don’t disagree with the economic model part. Not much competition in wireless Internet for PCs. Presently it looks like a monopoly.

Home Internet access is in my area is basically two players ( Comcast and Verizon) and that is not much of an efficient market.

I expect that soon entertainment content not originated by the ISP will be very expensive. A Comcast home customer may find that entertainment content downloaded from non-Comcast sources is a big bite out of the household budget.

You don’t have satellite access in your hometown? There’s only one phone carrier?

Broadband has done nothing but plummet in price where I live (mid-sized South Midwestern city) as more and more providers get in the game.

I don’t see that trend reversing any time soon.

Last time I checked satellite was not competitive, but that may have changed. I believe right now only two entities are able to run a physical connection to the house. One of those (Verizon) dominates wireless as well.

The last mile, end connection to the user is key. We need more than two players. The ones who control the distribution always try to control the content.

Hate to say it since it invites Government involvement , but Internet access is a public utility, unless technology permits a market of competitors providing access. Right now I see an OPEC type situation developing.

      Bro, you are tazing yourself…

If you are a doomer/conspiracy theorist – then you believe that Ben is part of a larger coordinated strategy by the G20. Bush put him in, Barak nominated him for re-election, and that’s that. It’s the same reason we have an elf who looks like he’s 15 running our Treasury… It’s all part of the show folks.

Second, as a Doomer, you should also know that there is no alternative to quantitative easing. To NOT print money and give it to banks would have been suicide over the last 12 months because of the default swaps (derivatives) issues. We are boiling a toad vs. nuking the kitchen.

Third, as a SUPER DOOMER – you should have been in Gold and commodities this whole time, not talking about how the market can be an asshole longer than you can stay solvent.
