The fact that we are not plummeting on “good news” means we are not done going higher. Both Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. [[GS]] and Citigroup Inc. [[C]] reported solid numbers: yet, here we are hanging around eating grapes, while our servants polish the expensive silverware. The market offeres subtle hints, very quietly, from time to time. Today is one of those “tell days.”
Nonetheless, I am not in the mood to buy stocks. I told you before, I intend to lighten up into frantic rips, while conducting myself like a gentleman, being a net buyer of stocks, on dips.
I am pleased to see [[ENTR]] above $3 again. Many of you scurried away like small rats when it tanked several weeks ago. If ENTR’s technology is adopted, broadly, by the major cable players, without a doubt, the stock will be double digits. Personally, I’ve been waiting for this technology to reach my home for years. The fact that Verizon Communications Inc. [[VZ]] is using 6 chips per every Fios install is reason enough to own ENTR. Now that Time Warner is using them in their boxes, you would have to be mentally impaired to sell the stock now. It’s sort of like throwing away a lottery ticket, before looking at the numbers.

People keep leaving messages on my voicemail about some FTK shareholders vote. Do you know what they want? I usually just ignore shareholder votes but they seem quite insistent that I should give a dam. I didn’t know $12,000 of stock made me remotely important.

With C and GS both reporting today and the financials taking a hit, who here is buying BAC ahead of earnings tomorrow? Shorting may make sense here? With GS getting the lions share of I banking revenue I don’t see of the pie going to BofA Merrill. I could be wrong and maybe the boys at Merrill had a great quarter trading fixed income as did GS. The credit losses are going to eat that revenue up IMO. All those loans from Countrywide, the credit card exposure etc. Then again I have been wrong for months now during this insane rally, which I say is the result of the greatest cover up ever known to man. There may be some fools out there who will believe the bullshit that these banks put out as earnings announcements. The books are so comlpex that here is no way anyone could figure out what is going on at these government owned institutions. I will roll the dice a little and buy some puts.

BAC is taking it’s earnings hit(sell the news) today based on C and GS. They represent the worst and best case scenario of which everyone else will be in between.
The only win shorting it would be if it was much worse than C on a relative basis.
Your best hope is that the general market is down, bailing out your trade.

Maybe, or maybe this is like the first few seconds after the “Road Runner” runs off the cliff and just kind of hangs there over an air pocket for a moment or two.
This market is trading primarily on insane greed, momentum has nothing to do with it, when emotions are part of the equation …. people make mistakes . As for me i am 100% cash , That may sound like a dumb strategy to a lot of you .. but I like to learn and profit from others mistakes…..
Cash, too, is a choice that can be a mistake.
