FAZ going down on low volume and up on rising volume ? Is this how GS made money. Manulipulation nation. Won’t last!
About to break down out of the government/bankster induced ascending cheese wedge.
Did anyone else hear mark haines say this morning that we were in a NEW BULL MARKET? Is he really that ignorant? Or is he paid off by wall street? People in the media should be held accountable for misleading the public just like our lying government and fed bankers. One of these days I believe the public will revolt. The setup is certainly being played out to the end of the string. The longer it goes the more violent the outcome will be. Mark my words.
I’ve been away indulging in Karen Tso lookalikes and other nefarious fare and gone long until the final plunge into armageddon. I’m thinking May. What’s the brain trust here say?
So when u buying SRS & FAZ?
U selling those y’day probably marked the classic top 😉
Pondering something.
When Obama pre-announces that he is seeing positive signs and that he has “happiness” to talk about, does he:
A. Really believe that what he said was really positive.
B. Want people to listen with the pre-conceived disposition to believe that what he has to say is positive.
In other words, what is the motive?
I think there is a significant difference between the 2 when it comes to understanding how he thinks. He does move the market.
I sold almost all of my BOOM today, for better or worse. Nice run – 5.20 to 12.4
buy me
Congratulation Boomer, let us know when you decide it’s a buy again. I sold mine way too early, but that’s typical of me.
DD:
I heard Mark Haines talk about the bull, I kept waiting for him to become sarcastic …. but he didn’t
I’m telling you management got to Haines, and Santelli, right after they let Rattigan walk. I’m with TheArtist and have cut waaay back on CNBC. They completely botched FastMoney.
it is bull until it is not
My wife read the post above and said I should go buy a watch to celebrate (you may recall I sold all of my watches some time ago as part of an anti materialism thing I was doing).
Any suggestions?
I’m thinking of a 40mm Rolex Yachtmaster is stainless and platinum. Like this one:
http://www.rolexreferencepage.com/travel/11_files/inside-limo-1.jpg
Ideas? I’m a little out of touch with what’s cool.
Botched Fast Money? Fast Money sucks. Got to Santelli in what way?
Dow up over 25% from March bottom to yesterdays peak. S&P up just short of 30%. Do you really want to get long after a broad market index is up 30% ? Now I know people are comparing this to the 1930s when we had bear market rallies north of 100%. But we also declined like 85% from the peak prior to those rallies. And for comparisons sake, XLF was up 93% from March bottom to yesterdays highs. So thats as close to a 100% rally as you are going to get.
I was thinking if S&P earnings decline to as low as $30 in 2010 or 2011 which is a possibility considering financial leverage is kaput and consumers are saving and spending less and credit is being destroyed (additional 2 trillion consumer credit lines will be cut this yr), slap on a bear market bottom 5 PE and you have S&P 150. DevilDogs target. Personally I think we will get back to 1990 level of S&P 300. The 1990s was the decade when the excess got out of control and we are going to undo the whole thing. Dow to 3000 , Gold to $3000 and a Dow Gold ratio of 1.
Controller – I will at 10.92 to start, and then more if it retests the 50 day MA at 9.58.
My fear is that the move is just beginning, and I’ll be buying back at 14 or something.
Moober, shiny watches like Rolexes are tacky. It smells off ‘I want people to think I’m rich even though I am not’ . Get yourself a Patek Phillipe . You won’t regret it. They are a timeless investment.
T- Santelli was on a roll until his Tea Party rant…it feels like they asked him to tone down. Just my opinion.
Fast Money with Dylan R. was a fresh show…not so much for banking coin, but I liked the rap with Rattigan as emcee.
Get yourself a Timex Expedition, or an Ironman, if you like the occassional workout.
If you really want to splurge, get some sweet sheepskin seatcovers for the ’93 Volvo.

Boomer,
My husband happens to be a jeweler. He sells a LOT of Breitlings. Definitely the most popular brand in his store. If you’re a big guy like he is, I think a Breitling Bentley would look great.
Cap – had one. Beautiful, but too dressy. I am always in jeans. I always thought the Rolex sport models were just that, sporty. Maybe a vintage watch? Hmmm….

Where do you asshat clown get the bullshit “Bear Market PE of 5”? I have seen PE’s on the S&P of over 75 in a bear market – and even INFINITY after a quarter years ago when steel stocks lost billions putting S&P earnings MINUS.
At a BEAR MARKET PE of 75, S&P earnings of $30, the S&P goes to 2250. What you got against going LONG the SPX and TRIPLING your money?
A Casio or Timex with a dial that illuminates in the dark is pretty cool.
jake – how many times do I have to tell you, it’s a ’94. And I bought a sweet ’99 Suburban a while ago, now my daily commute.
Maybe no watch?
EF7851 Fender Nocaster (More photos…) , 1951, EXF, featured on the cover of the 1994 Vintage Guitar Magazine Price Guide, thermometer bulb OHC, REDUCED FROM $109,000………..$89000
http://www.gruhn.com/photo/EF7851.jpg
Moober, don’t buy a fucking Rolex….every schmuck in american has those boring ass rich mans “Timex”.
Get a watch people actually don’t see many of and comment on, like a Ulysse Nardin or a Vacheron or a Corum, or even a Cartier Pasha chronograph.
Herd followers by Rolexs….don’t be a herd follower.
When I was about 13 I had something called a Fender Stratocaster (used about $100) when I was striving to be a part of the Dave Clark Five (or was it the Herman’s Hermits; I can’t remember).
TC – Still have it? You know how much it is worth now?
get a big clock on a chain..Flavor Flav style…oh by the way..COF getting ass smashed today..full credit taken.
Just remember:
Nothing says “I’m so pretty” like a strappy pink Strawberry Shortcake Swatch!
(more liquid than Breitling, too)

Moob,
You could always go old-school and get a pocket watch. I’ve got one that my grandfather left me. It is some old sears roebuck thing; not flash in the least, but it never fails to get some oohs and aahs.
get a big clock on a chain…Flava Flav style..COF getting ass smashed….FAZ ready to rock…
My Mom threw it out in about 1968 when we moved and she threw out my baseball card collection which is probably worth more than the guitar today.
I had them all. Mantle, Maris,Banks,Koufax,Drysdale, etc.
I forgave her years ago.
Russian watches are manly, simple designs and suitable for jeans to dress wear. Great conversation pieces, especially since the design is distinctive and the Cyrillic lettering attracts attention.
You can order a new, quality mechanical self-winding watch made by the Luch factory in Belarus for under $70 from a few different importers, or a “name” brand for a bit more…
Moober I know where a 1957 gold top can be had for $99,000.00…
and if you want a sport watch, are you looking for an automatic mechanical movement or a quartz?
If quartz look at the Tag Heuer Formula 1 chronograph series (quartz) or the Chopard Mille Miglia chronograph (automatic movement) I have one of these with the “50’s tire tread band”
Moober see if this link works.
http://www.thewatchery.com/Chopard–Watch-11684.htm?
A Russian watch would be perfect given the current political environ. Perfect. So timely (pun intended). Beautiful. Great idea.
Too bad we can’t have more gleeful days such as today. I am just bowling on fuckers at the moment being short GS and short HME. Granted I am taking side clippers to my ears for selling SRS and SKF for small losses yesterday but all in all I am in a glorious mood. Should we continue to pull back I will begin reloading the longs. Note: I am long DRYS and AMKR which are producing bountiful wins today also.
“mrkcbill Says:

——————–
Agree !
Also, Santelli’s lil buddy there on the floor Wolfman…hasn’t had ANY airtime since that day.
If he has, I’ve missed it.
.
ARB is rockin and rollin here.
short squeeze????
TC,
I had a rare Fender Jazz bass and Vox Bass amp …. left it at my dad’s while in college. Came home one weekend and stopped by to see him. He handed me a hundred bucks on the way out the door and I said thanks dad, but you don’t have to do that. He said no problem, I sold your bass and amp to the oilman, thought you’d be glad to have the money since you haven’t used it in years …. DOH!!
My mom had her moment too … she sold her home and was moving to a new condo and had some guy come clean out the basement. My childhood Lionel Trains were there and he gave her a modest sum for the entire set. Years later I attended a train collector’s trade show only to find how rare and expensive my Alaska set was …. DOH!!
Had to forgive both of them but jeesh, how bout a phone call!
Boom,
Congratulations. Hard to beat the Timex, but I got a Bell & Ross Vintage 123 automatic, black dial & strap, as a gift about a year ago.
Looks good w/jeans or a suit. Doesn’t try too hard, if you know what I mean. I’m hard on watches but mine still looks and runs like new. And with the difference between the B&R and that Rolly you can buy the wife some pretty decent earrings.
See where I’m going with this? Let us know what you get.
GSI is BTFO, look at all the shorts that getting the curb stomp. Lots of shorts to unwind.
Cheers!
E8- I had Lionel trains also.
And had a pretty cool Aurora race track (slot)(when they first came out).
I remember moving from paisley shirts to a cool looking Nehru jacket thinking Eric Burdon (from The Animals) was going to come to the front door asking if I wanted to join the band.
Looking like 840 is gunna hold ….
I had that James Bond mountain race set … too cool! I thought my big-belled bluejeans WITH cuffs were the slickest pants I ever had. Played in bands from 7th grade till college … Animals, Beatles, Stones, Spencer Davis, Cream, etal … best of times!
STP running into close
