What a douchebag market. If the market was a real person, it would be a jerk off from Brooklyn, who is burdened with a heavy accent and likes to wear lots of gold chains, just prior to killing his best friend with a metal pipe.
I think it’s important to note the carnage in commercial Re. Names like VNO, SPG, SLG, KIM and MAC are getting obliterated, without much fanfare. As you know, my favorite commercial Re stocks to short are FRT, ESS, MAC and SLG.
On the long side, I like Chinese burritos. Stocks like CHL, FXI JRJC, YZC and even LFC seem to have the support of a billion or two communists.
In short, the market is not a very inviting place to make money right now. On one hand, stocks appear to be oversold. On the other, capitalism as we know is dead.
The million dollar question: When does that get priced in?
My approach is simple: survive this decline and buy the dips. Mind you, I am not talking about buying asshole bank stocks. I am done with them. Instead, I want to position myself for the inevitable bounce. At some point, we will get a 10% rally. Into that rally, I will sell all of my longs and go on vacation.
These are tough times for everyone, not just Wall Street pikers. Try to remember the fuckery and mitigate risk whenever possible.
Now go buy your lady friend some fucking flowers and chocolate.

USO vs. Crude

Headlines are scrolling this afternoon about the surge in Oil prices, with Crude up more than 10% on the day.
But wait a minute…those traders not using futures to trade the commodity (by choice or by force) usually watch the USO exchange-traded fund. And that fund is down nearly 2% as I type.
How can that be? Well, according to the USO fund’s website, they are currently holding April futures contracts on Crude, but it is the front-month contract (March) that is making the big move today. Because of a structural issue with where oil is being stored, the front-month contract kind of has a life all its own.
Oil is a difficult commodity to trade, especially now, and I can find no other precedent when the USO fund was off so much from the front-month trade. Just another reason to be very aware of what you’re getting into with some of these ETFs.

Women DO NOT….DO NOT want pajamagrames or Vermont teddy bears for Valentines day. Never buy a woman undergarments and sleepware we hate that. We are not children therefore do not buy us stuff animals.
Also I recommend you do NOT buy candy for women either.
Flowers should be bought on a regular basis and not just one day out of the year. Women really do not respect a man who only manages to buy flowers one time out of the year.
You can never go wrong with jewelry,perfume(not from the drugstore), a day long spa package, furs,cars,shoes, purses (burberry/Fendi, Jimmy Choo etc.)
Most importantly guys ….a woman always knows if the gift is selfish or unselfish.
Women will secretly resent any gift you give them that benefits YOU or is for YOUR pleasure. Give a gift whatever it is that is solely for her and her pleasure- you get nothing out of it but the joy of seeing her happy.
Thats all I have to say about Valentine’s Day and those endless dumb commercials.

Another week gone by and more market manipulation by the powers that be. Thursday’s late day reversal was nothing short of pure manipulation by the administration once they saw that the market was about to take a deeper dive. Had they not made the announcement about even more manipulation in the mortgage market, the market would have dove 350 points on the dow and down to 800 on the S&P IMO.
Next week is a short week and options expiration on Friday. We should see a pick up in volume. Obama’s signing of the Pork bill and his speech Wednesday about the fuckery in the mortgage market should be interesting. If it results in a big market pop I may cover some of my shorts and take some profits, then reenter on the short side once the crazies are brought back to earth.
The stimulus bill will not work. The people that think it will have an immediate impact are sorely mistaken. They will be sucked in with a head fake rally only to be pushed over the cliff.
There will be new lows IMO. Look at the trend. I think it is marching down to 660.

We need to be careful of all the negative crap we buy into that may originate from places like CNBC. I mindlessly watch that show during the day, but was rather tweaked yesterday with the incessant barrage of attacks thrust upon Geitner by Kudlow and his butt buddies. I started asking myself about conspiracy theories behind these attacks possibly coming from the CNBC Board through Kudlow to the American people because (1) a lot of people watch CNBC for their financial news, (2) Geitner in working for Obama may be wanting to break the power that the banking system has over America and the world, (3) in achieving #2, this administration can redfine how this system operates in the future (think Teddy Roosevelt and the anti-trust movement over 100 years ago), and (4) there are a lot of vested interests at GE in keeping business as usual, well….business as usual.
I looked at the most connected GE Board members and found that the top 5 most connected Board members are directly or indirectly related to financial institutions such as GEFS (Suisse) AG, GE Money Bank, Prokredit, GE Capital Bank, Banca D Italia, Citigroup, Standard Chartered, PLC, Harvard Business School Club of Greater New Yort, Alimansky Capital Group, Perella Weinberg Partners, Valhalla Partners, among many, many other financial institutions. The Board members with these relationships include Ann Fudge, James Cash, James Mulva, Claudio Laporte, and Jeff Immelt.
I’m just sayin, most of those dicks at CNBC may be motivated to discredit Geitner before he gets going because this administration is not just interested in saving the banking industry, but possibly changing it forever.

Despite the vulgarity, sporadic porn, closet racists, and Nazis, we have been able to establish a nice little community here. Most of us look out for each other, and even when we disagree, we will show up the next day and start over.
I can tell you that Jake is very busy with a very good job, and as I have met members of his family personally, I can tell you that they love him very much. As successful as he is, I doubt he could be an alcoholic.
As for Chivas, I can tell you that the man is very generous and would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. It is likely that he has seen more and accomplished more than you could ever comprehend.
Joe, many of us have showed up here everyday, for a couple years or more, on Christmas, Thanksgiving, our son’s and daughter’s birthdays, during times when family members were sick, and during times when we were sick.

Anyway – it also depends on the market and the leverage… I am a futures trader – primarily DAX, but also ES, CL and the Aussie SPI. I am up a little over 40% for the month (my month starts on the 19th) – which is a little better than normal. I was up 50% until a mistimed entry in the DAX last week (when the DAX bounces this week I fully expect to finish the month + 55-to-60% for the month).
Anyhow – that’s not the point: without verified account statements, there is absolutely no way to tell if I am bullshitting or not. I chuckle quietly when I see journalists write that such-and-so a scheme MUST have been a fraud because it claimed to be able to pocket 12% a month… in the futures market if you’re a contrarian, that’s easily do-able, month in and month out, so long as you’re not a nuffnuff.
Will post a link to screenshots of an account statement (with acc numbers redacted, of course) if anybody gives a flying rat’s ass…
Last but not least, all politicians are parasitic scum – including The Magic Mulatto (a.k.a.
