My Next Move Will Be My Best

I am not in the market. I have no real positions to speak of—just stupid ancillary bullshit.

Let it be known, when the market was printing the lows of the day, The PPT ranks were moving up in score. I was confused. Hell, I thought for sure the scores would be at new lows. However, instead, they were showing signs of strength, which was entirely opposite from what the market was showing.

With all of the bullshit in the market, coupled with the information coming out of The PPT, I blew out of most my positions—long and short—near their intraday highs. Another Fly win.

Anyway, we are not out of the woods yet. And, I am sure there is a rally or two left, prior to the ultimate mind numbing unscheduled decline, which is inevitable. But, let it be known, “The Fly” has, pretty much, retired from this stock game. I have had enough of this shit, quite sincerely.

Hell, if I am going to go out, I might as well do it while on top, no?

I am within 10% of my all-time highs, which was accomplished during the fun days of November, 2008. I will hit that cock sucking number, then vanish, like a thief in the night, never to be seen of or heard from again.

The Legend of “The Fly” will make its circles around the filthy coffee machines down on Wall Street. Piker brokers will talk of such a Godly investor, like rap fans speak of Tupac or Biggie Smalls.

The internet will search far and wide for Senor Tropicana. However, he will be nowhere to be found, since he will be living on some backwards island, sipping on hard liquor, just south of America. Maybe he will become a Jamaican. Who knows, mon?

pulled this comment from another blog: worth the read:

Someone sent this to me. Apparently it was written by a genuine small business owner to his staff. Enjoy.

    To All My Valued Employees,
There have been some rumblings around the office about the future of this company, and more specifically, your job. As you know, the economy has changed for the worse and presents many challenges. However, the good news is this: The economy doesn’t pose a threat to your job. What does threaten your job however, is the changing political landscape in this country. However, let me tell you some little tidbits of fact which might help you decide what is in your best interests.
First, while it is easy to spew rhetoric that casts employers against employees, you have to understand that for every business owner there is a Back Story. This back story is often neglected and overshadowed by what you see and hear. Sure, you see me park my Mercedes outside. You’ve seen my big home at last years Christmas party. I’m sure; all these flashy icons of luxury conjure up some idealized thoughts about my life.
However, what you don’t see is the BACK STORY:
I started this company 28 years ago. At that time, I lived in a 300 square foot studio apartment for 3 years. My entire living apartment was converted into an office so I could put forth 100% effort into building a company, which by the way, would eventually employ you.
My diet consisted of Ramen Pride noodles because every dollar I spent went back into this company. I drove a rusty Toyota Corolla with a defective transmission. I didn’t have time to date. Often times, I stayed home on weekends, while my friends went out drinking and partying. In fact, I was married to my business — hard work, discipline, and sacrifice.
Meanwhile, my friends got jobs. They worked 40 hours a week and made a modest $50K a year and spent every dime they earned. They drove flashy cars and lived in expensive homes and wore fancy designer clothes. Instead of hitting the Nordstrom’s for the latest hot fashion item, I was trolling through the discount store extracting any clothing item that didn’t look like it was birthed in the 70’s. My friends refinanced their mortgages and lived a life of luxury.
I, however, did not. I put my time, my money, and my life into a business with a vision that eventually, some day, I too, will be able to afford these luxuries my friends supposedly had.
So, while you physically arrive at the office at 9 A.M., mentally check in at about noon, and then leave at 5 P.M., I don’t. There is no “off” button for me. When you leave the office, you are done and you have a weekend all to yourself. I unfortunately do not have the freedom. I eat, and breathe this company every minute of the day. There is no rest.
There is no weekend. There is no happy hour.
Every day this business is attached to my hip like a
1 year old special-needs child. You, of course, only see the fruits of that garden — the nice house, the Mercedes, the vacations… you never realize the Back Story and the sacrifices I’ve made.

Now, the economy is falling apart and I, the guy that made all the right decisions and saved his money, have to bail-out all the people who didn’t.
The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed a decade of my life for.
Yes, business ownership has is benefits but the price I’ve paid is steep and not without wounds.
Unfortunately, the cost of running this business, and employing you, is starting to eclipse the threshold of marginal benefit and let me tell you
    why:
I am being taxed to death and the government thinks I don’t pay enough. I have state taxes.
Federal taxes. Property taxes. Sales and use taxes.
    Payroll taxes. Workers compensation taxes.
Unemployment taxes. Taxes on taxes. I have to hire a tax man to manage all these taxes and then guess what? I have to pay taxes for employing him.
Government mandates and regulations and all the accounting that goes with it, now occupy most of my time. On Oct 15th, I wrote a check to the US Treasury for $288,000 for quarterly taxes. You know what my “stimulus” check was? Zero.. Nada. Zilch.
The question I have is this: Who is stimulating the economy? Me, the guy who has provided 14 people good paying jobs and serves over 2,200,000 people per year with a flourishing business? Or, the single mother sitting at home pregnant with her fourth child waiting for her next welfare check?
Obviously, government feels the latter is the economic stimulus of this country.
The fact is, if I deducted (Read: Stole) 50% of your paycheck you’d quit and you wouldn’t work here. I mean, why should you? That’s nuts. Who wants to get rewarded only 50% of their hard work? Well, I agree which is why your job is in jeopardy.
Here is what many of you don’t understand … to stimulate the economy you need to stimulate what runs the economy. Had suddenly government mandated to me that I didn’t need to pay taxes, guess what? Instead of depositing that $288,000 into the Washington black-hole, I would have spent it, hired more employees, and generated substantial economic growth. My employees would have enjoyed the wealth of that tax cut in the form of promotions and better salaries. But you can forget it now.
When you have a comatose man on the verge of death, you don’t defibrillate and shock his thumb thinking that will bring him back to life, do you? Or, do you defibrillate his heart? Business is at the heart of America and always has been. To restart it, you must stimulate it, not kill it. Suddenly, the power brokers in Washington believe the poor of America are the essential drivers of the American economic engine. Nothing could be further from the truth and this is the type of change you can keep.
So where am I going with all this?
    It’s quite simple.
If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, my reaction will be swift and simple. I’ll fire you. I’ll fire your co-workers. You can then plead with the government to pay for your mortgage, your SUV, and your child’s future. Frankly, it isn’t my problem any more.
Then, I will close this company down, move to another country, and retire. You see, I’m done. I’m done with a country that penalizes the productive and gives to the unproductive. My motivation to work and to provide jobs will be destroyed, and with it, will be my citizenship.
So, if you lose your job, it won’t be at the hands of the economy; it will be at the hands of a political hurricane that swept through this country, steamrolled the constitution, and will have changed its landscape forever. If that happens, you can find me sitting on a beach, retired, and with no employees to worry about….
    Signed, THE BOSS

NEW YORK (Fortune) — Over a wine-soaked dinner two years ago, Bill Watkins told Fortune that hard-drive manufacturer Seagate is in the business of helping “people buy more crap – and watch porn.” That statement landed the now-former CEO in a PR mess inside the company. But he said something else that evening to reveal the attitude that may have ultimately led to his ouster as CEO.

When asked how he handles his board of directors, he said this: “You never ask board members what they think. You tell them what you’re going to do.”

    CAP,

Regarding Harry S. Dent’s new book about the “The Great Depression Ahead,” he does premise the book by admitting that he and his demographics researchers at his organization were not exactly on target regarding Dow 40,000 and how they adjusted it 2 more times to 16,000 to 20,000 based on new cycles they observed and then down to 14,000 to 16,000.

    Excerpt from Prologue:

“What we present in this book is, first of all, a more sober forecast than our bullish forecasts of the early 1990s and early 2000s. However, our fundamental long-term indicators have forecast consistently since the late 1980s that this boom would end around the end of this decade, as the massive baby-boom generation finally peaked in its productivity, earning, and spending power and as the new Internet and information technologies saturated our economy at or near 90% adoption. Thus we are not being inconsistent here–and people should listen more to a long-term bull that is turning bearish than to the perennial bears who forecast a great downturn or depression after every strong advance and excess borrowing cycle.”

    Other Excerpts:

“The greatest credit bubble in history started to deflate into 2008, but that was only the appetizer. We think the greatest bubble boom in history will deflate much more between 2010 and 2012 (and perhaps into 2014 or early 2015), or the main course. This process will continue off and on into the early 2020s, much as happened during the Great Depression from 1930 to 1942. Even then, stocks put in a long-term bottom in mid-1932, as did home prices in 1933. In the coming depression, this deflation will be devastating to the economy and to almost all financial assets, from stocks to real estate to commodities. However, great investment opportunities will be available early in the cycle and a significant bear market rally is likely between mid-2012 and mid-2017, much as occurred in the 1930s between mid-1932 and early 1937.
Investors should hold stocks for a likely substantial rebound in 2009 in between 9,800 and 11,800 on the Dow, and should be able to continue to profit from commodity and oil stocks into as late as early to mid-2010. But the only place to hide at first will be in safe money markets and currencies (like the Swiss franc) and then, on a lag, high-quality U.S. Treasury, municipal, and corporate bonds and similar high-quality bonds of more stable economies in Asia and Europe. Unprecedented buying opportunities will follow, especially in areas such as Asia, health care, and select ares of real estate between late 2010 and mid- to the late 2012. Favorable demographic trends will continue in these areas for decades to come, well before the next concerted long-term global boom and bull market begins, between 2020 and 2023, based on demographic trends.”

Hey Broker A, the last time you threatened to disappear, you started iBC! We already know what your next move will be; a radio talk show on the beach in Negril and a new blog called flyonganga.blogspot.com to be featured on CNBC’s Marijuana,Inc. Congrats on the phenomenal space-alien magic performed today and everyday for all of us to see for nearly 3 years now! Pretty soon, Cramer’s cronies will be back again telling you to knock it off because iBC is about to surpass TSC in revenue and they fear a hostile takeover! Watching you trade, provide unique and classic commentary while building your internet empire has by far been the best investor education possible. I use to wonder why on earth you spend so much time spoon feeding us internet leeches. Best of luck with the PPT banking silly internet money off the internets(sic) and handsomely rewarding your top-notch tabbed bloggers with illegal mexican wages. Now enjoy your Earl Grey and get some well deserved rest, even though we all know the Fly never sleeps!

If you waited on SRS at the highs, it dropped 10% in a few minutes. Sure you got out at the highs, and exited all the others with perfecto timing just before they turned on a dime. What was your total loss for the day — that has you swearing off the market.

this site is going the way of all trading sites. a guy does well for a while, regresses to the mean, then starts making up a bunch of hindsight bullshit to keep his “readers” interested. then he reverts to a gimmicky trading system, which was supposed to be ready in october but is still “in progress;” yet fly touts it despite his declaration that we would close at the lows. then he says the PPT knew it all along. get bent. your video sucks too
everyone regresses to the mean. people here like to talk shit about cramer, but he did the same thing the fly is doing – banked coin in a predictable market, but is now getting his ass kicked.a year from now, we will laugh at fly the same way we laugh at cramer/bill miller/etc. this PPT nonsense sounds a lot like lenny dykstra with his “undefeated record.”

    Yo “captain obvious,”

Wtf are you talkin about? His posts the past 2 days is what made me money… I woulda made more if I followed his lead and took my profits in SRS/FAZ earlier in the day at its peak but I got greedy–that was my call not FLY’s and I lost 25K of potential profits for not heeding the post below (what he posted at 12:02 which was incidentally when DOW was at around 8000–the low of the day):

We Will Close at the Lows of the Day
    January 15, 2009 – 12:02 pm

My point: never underestimate your enemy. Right now, my enemy, for the most part, are most of you—since you are long stocks. Don’t lie. I know you are betting against me.

Bottom line: I don’t give two fucks and a gay fiddle about where SRS goes, after I sell it. This is the first month of 2009; quit trying to eat the cupboard bare all in one sitting, you fat fucks.

ALSO, when the FLY said he was staying short the day before, that is what kept me short which made me more COIN. So uh, “captain obvious” you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about… not to say FLY’s been on the dot every damn second but he’s pretty damn close… if you think he’s BS then why do you even bother coming on this board? Do you really have altruistic motives in protecting other visitors of this site from being “ripped off” by the FLY? Fly

ignore the envious idiots. i vividly recall you outed from your positions first thing in the morning.

You’re wasting time having to defend yourself against these twerps.

The Fly is an angry crooklynite but but he’s legit as anyone who has been reading the blog knows here been bearish while the market was going up and warned everyone.

So go suck a penis you envious morons.

    That said

    Here’s my view ion C.

C reports a loss of 8 billion this evening and also informs the market that it is forming a separate structure to dump on that shit into a bad bank structure that just happens to equal the Feds guarantee amount of 300 billion. The obvious implication is that they would be taking the first $30 billion hit while the Fed takes $300 billion..

They will present the earnings estimates going forward from the good bank and this will be reasonably respectable.

Once people realize this and the ramifications of the ring fence the stock will get bid up the value of the good bank less any business sales dilution of potential earnings power and the market will also discount some value for the bad bank.

C is going up and it’s BAC that gets a broomstick up the rear end if they don’t get the same deal.

Back test rally should top out at about S&P 875-880 then DOWN we go. We will not make it back to 1/6 highs which is where I’m sitting with my pockets full of my 9/19 & 1/6 SHORT positions. Mean & Green. Just patiently waiting. Still looking for my NEW LOWS in Feb.. BIG swings is the way to go and avoid all this daily bullshit. Much less stress not getting thrown around all day long. I’m going to hibernate for a while at the race track and with the wife(her birthday is 1/19) starting tomorrow and through Thursday next week and then we are leaving for Daytona on Friday for the Rolex 24 on 1/24 & 25 and flying back on the 26th. I’ll be back here BEARISH as ever on 1/27. Have fun while I’m gone and make some day trade coin.
