I Have No Idea

Following ‘good economic data,’ the market has no idea what it wants to do. On one hand, it wants to drive the shares of [[LEH]] and [[MI]] through the dirt. On the other, it just loves [[BCS]] and its euro-trash ways.

Personally, I am pleased to see [[IBKR]] eat pavement. Don’t ask me why. I just do.

As a result of cocaine abuse, the [[SKF]] is all over the road. As you know, I bought some in the $150’s, then I bought a lot more, sub $120. By no means will I sell it here. I may consider letting go of some in the $140’s.

Maybe.

[[CLNE]] is bouncing here. I love this name. It’s just one of those stocks that has the potential to double or triple. While the volatility is severe, I believe in the long term fundamentals and will hold this fucker, through thick or thin—or until I have a “big dicked” gain.

Oil sucks again. At the present, I own very little [[PCZ]]. Other than that, I like [[FTK]], but own zero.

Go figure.

[[MVIS]] is behaving rather nicely, following the announcement of a capital raise. I am long about 50,000 shares and intend on holding them through Christmas.

Finally, I do not trust this tape, either way. I will probably balance out my holdings a little more, then go throw rocks at people outside.

ERII. Another stock that could double or triple if you can handle the volatility.

We got crude down another 2 dollars, and better than expected economic reports. Under normal circumstances, this market should be off to the races. But considering the fact that so many fuckers lost their fingers yesterday, the action so far has to be very disappointing for the Kudlow types.

I would not be surprised to see this market rollover before the close.

It is a good thing we have Donny here to guide us through the ups and downs of this market, otherwise we would all just be completely lost not knowing what the hell to do.

Yeah, god forbid someone should use the comments to actually comment on the market. WTF was Donny thinking?

Cut the guy a little slack, huh?

You are wrong about the long-term fundamentals of CLNE.

Nat gas vehicles work for fleets, but not for individuals. The only way you get mass retail sales of NGVs is if you build out a huge nationwide network of fueling stations.

“But”, says CLNE fans, “isn’t that exactly what CLNE wants to do and profit from?” Yeah, and I want my own sunny island.

There are 3 problems with the picture of large increases in the number of NGVs:
–the NG supply isn’t there for it, unless you assume large imports of LNG (negating the “energy independence” theme and requiring approval from the large numbers of citizens impacted by the terminals)
–NG is harder to store than are liquid fuels, and NG consumption already has large seasonal swings, so the price volatility could be huge
–Due to the storage issue, supply interruptions can quickly result in local or regional shortages. If this happens in the winter, do you think granny’s heat and electricity will be cut off, or do you think that vehicle fueling stations will be cut off? Not a tough question.

Pickens has been pushing the NGV fueling business for more than a decade, but the business hasn’t expanded beyond the expected, ho-hum business of providing central fueling stations for fleets. The only important fundamental that has changed over that period is an increase in the price of oil relative to NG. Unless you believe that the increase is permanent, or part of a long-term trend, CLNE doesn’t break out for fundamental reasons. Given the supply restrictions and even greater storage restrictions on natural gas, I’m confident that such a belief would be mistaken.

mrkcbill- Sounds good to me. Good for 5-10 minute scalps here and there. If I take my meds the trades could stretch an extra 5 minutes (or I could just take a nap).

Check out HUN. I’m not too crazy about playing the M&A arbitrage game but the risk reward on this one is very compelling in light of the news today.

    Fly:

What is it that you like about clean energy Fuel? Oil is breaking to the downside people and is going to remian under pressure.

I’m buying the dollar on any upside and look to establish more shorts in the Pound and Aussie doll.

Added a little more to my C holding.

Fly or anyone: read the parameters of the housing bill (business section of the NYTimes if you’re into that stuff) and tell me what the fuck it means for SRS. Apparently you can get an interest free loan for a first time home buyer if you make under $75,000. I couldnt even believe this shit when one of my fellow traders started explaining it to me.

unbelievable. the SRS trade is so money going forward yet the guvmint keeps trying to fuck us.
