In honor of the All-Star game, I have decreed tonight, “negative karma night”.
Just completed an analysis on ludicrous claims that the reason why we are seeing subdued VIX at this “market bottom” is because of increase in shorts etf volumes. I went back and checked in and around Jan 22 and Mar 17 bottoms, compared volumes and avg volume. Guess what, the facts don’t support the stupid hypothesis. We are actually trading lesser ETF shorts (SDS, DOG, SH, DXD used as examples) as compared to the bottoms from Jan and March although there was a “mini” spike in VIX earlier this morning. Leads me to conclude the panic is yet to be seen, as I have been maintaining since the recent few weeks.
