Adequate ways to play the fall of corn is to short [[GRU]], [[JJG]] or [[DBA]].
However, the best ways to profit from a weak grain market is to buy the 200% inverse agriculture ETN: [[AGA]], which consists of corn, soybeans, sugar and wheat.
If you are a straight gangster, wanting to profit from the demise of all commodities, [[DEE]] is your play. DEE shorts crude oil, heating oil, aluminum, gold, corn and wheat, at a 200% clip. In other words, “fuck the farmer” and the oil guy.
The 200% upside ETN’s are [[DAG]] and [[DYY]].

Why are you trying to short the strongest sectors ? Why not just lean against the weakest ones like Financials and real estate related stuff. The first “market bubble” and first “options market” in the wolrd that was recorded in history was in the 16th century for tulip bulbs, which were treated value wise like Lamborghinis are now, and were traded like cash. It got so bad, peole would sell there house to own contracts for these bulbs. When it crashed, several people tried to “buy the dip” and continued to get slaughtered and ultimately people lost their homes.
Market mania and hysteria will seemingly always occur, as long as there are fools, and that means there will always be HUGE declines.
Millionaire farmers is not something to bet on long term, imo, nor are millionaire turnip gardners.
If somethings going on and you bet on a top and are right, your reward is endless. But if it doesn’t do what you expect and it reverses and shoots up, you only are going to be in the wrong part of a very small portion of the move. Plus, there’s nothing more fun then being on the right side of a “dot bomb” type market. All the stories of “overnight riches” are gone before most of them can sell, and you truely do end up with “overnight riches” almost literally overnight.

read your analysis about solar from last night. you are correct, but ya gotta realize, we are in the pentium 90 stage in this game.
google CIGS. granted, its a ways off, but there are actually companies with CIGS in production right now. the whole game will change when any building material surface (cement, shingles etc) can be a solar panel.
interesting to note that Shell sold their “traditional” solar fab, and dumped all the $$ into CIGS.
