ALL PEOPLE TRADING IN DCR: I know many of you were wondering about the major selling and as Lurker mentioned earlier the redemption on the fund was what caused a lot of it. However looking at the close on oil today, it did not close above 111 which is what would start the countdown on redemption at NAV. Macroshares has confirmed this. Ofcourse this doesn’t help feeling like shit if you bought way up there but if you did buy today (My cost is $7.68) then you should be in good shape should the premise of the bet go your way (oil down from record high). My whole thesis on buying DCR is that we have two choices here, either oil can continue higher to 120 and the economy go to fucking shit faster than beans at dinner or oil can back off hits record highs and the economy has a shallow recession/correction not accelerated by oil. Bottom line it can’t be both ways no matter what you say. Demand will dwindle, truckers will go on faggot union strikes or some shit and the price will have to come down. In order to take the other side as well I am heavily short via many of broker’s inverse ETFs and short X and WM. Anyway on DCR, should oil back off you will see a very violent spike up like you saw the violent spike down. Just in case you didn’t believe me on the crude close here is the official from Yahoo News:

gap – there will likely be a snapback after today … it sure did look like capitulation … insane volume. probably a lot of shorts put out ..I wouldn’t doubt some arbitrage buying of oil to get it over 111 for 3 days with a short on DCR. Although you could get your head blown off, I wouldn’t put it past someone.

Juice I agree its wild as fuck. If we see a snap back into the high 7’s or so I will probably throw a very tight stop on as DCR is very volitile. That said a snapper could cause a large upswing that could be profitable.
