I’ll have you know, this is NOT a democracy. This site is to be ruled with an iron fist, where only Fly’s ideas are relevant, while Woodshedder’s are just the ramblings of a sour southerner—still mad at being on the short end of the “Civil War stick.”
Today was a perfect consolidation day. Aside from select financials, like ETFC, FMD, COF and DSL, the market was orderly.
The UAPH buyout caused a buying frenzy in other agriculture related plays, like LNN, MOS, VMI, MON, POT, CNH and BG.
Being long the ag space is for everyone. It’s for the inflation hawks, who believe we are in the midst of a multi-year commodity bull market. And, it’s for the global growth guys, who feel “ag is the way to go,” since China and India are “growing so fast.”
In short, if “The Fly” can teach you anything, it is to pay attention to what is working in bad markets.
God willing, “The Fly” will put together a short list of “shotgun to the head” ag picks—in order to help “simple internet folk” make enough money to pay their grocery bills.

Frosty, get a grip, I went bear in early November. Check my other blog, it has the post for when I sold most everything and started buying inverse ETFs.
I will get bullish again with a capitulation/panic bottom, or at the very least, a successful re-test of recent lows, or if the indexes can over take the resistance outlined in my Bulls Led To Slaughter post.
Maybe you and others can trade both sides, long one day, short the next, but I was never very good at that. I think one has to decide on direction for at least several weeks, and stick with it. At least that is what works better for me.
Also, what does it mean to have longs you don’t want to sell, but yet you readily acknowledge the significant weaknesses? In fact, you are apparently shorting stuff.

WOOD…dude not an attack…and you well may be right in the long term, no problem there with me….just consider who you are speaking ie the FLY comments his last couple of posts…there is middle ground and great trades will appear as the future unfolds, it is just a matter of perspective bro…I have posted short HMC and long OSIP recently just so you know where I’m coming from…you know a pig in this tape is the second to die, baby bears are the first cooked…that is by design, the FLY understands that and so should you.

Let me be clear- I think trying to play longs for a bounce here is a big mistake. I think the big money is going to be made by setting up strategic shorts, and scaling in at these levels. I’m not talking about going all in. I’m talking about preparing for the rest of a correction. Most, when/if it happens, will have spent so much time trying to finds longs to bounce that they will miss any possibility of getting short early. Then, they will get short, right before the next relief rally.
When the Fly decides he’s had enough of my bearshitting, he’ll let me know. Until then, I’ll continue to make my case.
