Don’t Short Here

While it’s true, I hate the market here; I get the sense the bears are walking into an oversold trap.

One of my key tells, SRS (inverse homebuilder), is approaching unsustainable levels—where it has failed numerous times.

In short, go eat a sandwich; don’t press your luck shorting down here.

If you insist on selling short, wait for a bounce, then sell CFC (modern day Enron) two times, until the fucker hits zero.

I’m watching “Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room” tonight. Just got it in the mail from Netflix. Maybe I’ll learn something.

2pm and the FOMC minutes will answer all of our short-term questions.

    That’s sound advice Fly.

However, as fucktarded as it seems, will there be a bounce?

Of course there will…however, things have an odd feel to them, like something wants to break, one way or the other.

    The FLY:

A week or so ago you called for long on SPF. And I thought it was pre-mature and just watched. It was way too pre-mature because SPF falled another 50% from your call.

So today are you going to call for long on SPF. Or you think it is a toss here at $2.40, BK coming?

Did you buy on your own recommendation?

No you don’t have money to short SWC. You bought SPF on your long call a few weeks ago and you lost your SH*T on that call.

Here is my 1 cents, the FED see muddling growth nest, and the kicker is the PCE should be comming down, thats good enough , even with slow growth , with P/E ‘s where they are now, its enough cause as long as the idea remains that the fed can if need be , help, since stks are cheep, and the economy will pick up instead of break down, stock can rally back…BUY BUY BUY

The Fed doesn’t give the bulls much hope.

“FOMC members predicted growth could slow next year to as low as 1.8 percent, according to the middle range of forecasts. The numbers are “notably below” the 2.5 percent to 2.75 percent anticipated in June, the Fed said.

Inflation, as measured by the personal consumption expenditures price index excluding food and energy, will be 1.7 percent to 1.9 percent, down from 1.75 percent to 2 percent. ”

“Most participants judged that the uncertainty attending their October projections for real gross domestic product growth was above typical levels seen in the past,” the Fed said. “In contrast, the uncertainty attached to participants’ inflation projections was generally viewed as being broadly in line with past experience.”

Ruh-roh. There’s room for a nasty inflation surprise.

JJ: Where were you jesterday when some sleuth printed up his dossier on you, little buddy? A very compelling piece of work .. as are you.

He destroyed the minute shreds of credibility you were hanging by.

I don’t know who is sleuth and I am int interested in what he said. When FLY bought SPF I said he did it pre-mature. Was that not credible?

Now the FLY just said he now has less money to spend on grocery because of his SPF loss. See above.

JJ, you are recommending that people buy (te) what companies give away for free.

I’ve got some dog shit in my back yard you can buy, since it seems you like to buy shit that other people give away for free.

The Fly said he had more money to spend on grocery, but then lost in SPF. So he must be spending less now due to the loss. Very logical.

    Fly,
    SRS is not inverse homebuilder.

    SRS is not inverse homebuilder.

    SRS is not inverse homebuilder.

SRS is more like inverse commercial real estate (CRE). Realization of the problems in CRE lagged realization of the problems in residential. CRE doesn’t have the big fraud problems that contributed to the residential bubble and the resulting damage, but it has many of the other elements that created the residential bubble.

What really seems to nail CRE and send SRS soaring is a credit drought. That’s why SRS soared in August, but hasn’t been drifting up as the homebuilders and lenders drifted down.

I think there now is a chance for SRS to drift up as retail gets hit and all the rosy scenarios that were supporting CRE get a frosty blast of reality.
