STP: Sold @ 44.18

My Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. (ADR) [[STP]] trade gave me a nice yield of 22% in 3 days.

Note: I’m still holding on to Energy Conversion Devices, Inc. [[ENER]] , and will add on dips.

I love that USO weekend trade idea of yours, I did not sell mine until this morning (long weekend) for a nice gain.

I bought FRO this morning when it looked way oversold. Have a 1.7% gain right now, tempted to sell. Any thoughts.

Not sure on FRO. Normally I would wait for a break of the 20 MA on a 5 min chart for my exit– that means stop @ 55.55.

I am watching FSLR to break $280.

Mr F: FRO is down $3 this morning because of the $3 dividend. Not because of the oversold state !!! You should have at least looked at the earnings report before buying it on an oversold condition.

It is heading higher due to the large amount of profit it is still making, look at the break even rates on page 13 versus the current spot rates and time charter rates on page 10. Then figure out whether you think they will continue to have the high margin going forward.

FRO seems to over the last couple of quarters to be doing a lot of one off deals that boost earnings. Converting to only using double hull tankers and buying/selling stock in other companies.

Earnings for the first half of $7.21 is almost as much as they made for the whole of 2007. Good results.

You think STP will start to sell off in the next day or so?

Feltersnatch: See this article on Lloyd’s List for reasons for the FRO move.

If you want to know the tanker spot rates one month in arrears you can use this source. I have never really found a better source, so I use it.

Why would you sell STP and keep CSIQ? It should be the other way around. STP deals more in the U.S. and they will provide much more businesss and their earnings were great. CSIQ deals a lot in Spain and Portugal and they are cutting and are in a reccession? Also the daily on STP has 5 more bucks in it minimum, while CSIQ just flashed a big bearish tail candle after testing the 50 DMA and has a ton of near term resistance over head.

I glad you made money, but you might want to reverse that trade.

I’m not in CSIQ, I’m in SPWR & ENER.

sorry about that…strike the Spain vs. U.S. comments. Both charts have their qualities. ENER setting up for a breakout and STP making up lost ground.

    Good luck.
