Out of ABX puts this morning here a few minutes ago for the gain and got some cheap VXX calls for a quick play.
I wouldn’t try to bottom fish DDD as arguably the main reason it popped the first part of this year was that it seemed there might be some truth to the buy out rumor.

OA I was thinking back to the last boot camp, specifically your thoughts on vol this year. I’m thinking the best play might be to buy long dated puts in the 10-12 range during a crisis/VIX spike. That way you fade the spike rather than trying to get ahead of it.
Any sage advice or should I GFM?

It’s a winning idea so long as you wait until you see the whites of their eyes and buy long enough dated puts. Also, so long as it’s not different this time. But the idea of fading a spike vs anticipating one seems to be a higher percentage trade.
any thoughts on BITA filling that whole pocket up to 24.5 area in next couple of weeks, or is that a little over optimistic?

TWLO long dated calls.
Betting AVXS moved too far too quickly.. small short at 66.28. Above yesterday’s high I’m out. Nothing wrong with juggling a hand grenade once in a while.
