OA – to answer your question on the “buying or shorting after a big move” – as you might have noticed – I am entering with the intention of holding anywhere from a few hours to a day/day-and-a half and so I know I am catching the tail end of a move – it is purposeful. Take for example MNST – which I entered right when it turned positive today and is now up 1 percent. The action this morning – sell-off – then turning positive – goes to the idea short-term sellers are out for probably at least a few sessions and I’m playing for a run the rest of today – which is happening and then hopefully a small pop Monday or Tuesday. I use the word hopefully because of course – who really knows if it will happen but seems a good probability.
With ABX puts – sold this morning for around 180 percent – I purposely played it for a short-term capitulation in miners which probably happened this morning. Entered yesterday as can be seen around 18.4 – sold this morning around 17.8
Versus my call about 3 weeks ago to bet against them at the peak of their uptrend. From an opportunity standpoint, I suppose it all boils down to what you are willing to risk for such smaller moves.
I suppose if you are playing for hours easy to jump in for small part of the middle.
Are you referencing a specific blog post? I follow your calls and you make great ones but the only mining references I found in your blog posts during Feb were buy coal and a call that gold has peaked.

Sorry OA – don’t remember you telling me not to do it. These low priced stocks I’m not familiar with setting appropriate stops on. I really like this industry for the future and wondering if I add more, just ride it out with what I have, or set a stop (which I’m not sure what that would be). Thanks again for all you do.
With ideas like these, I think its important not to over manage them.
Think of them as an option.
