I scoff, because $X was of my top ideas exactly one year ago, when I purchased for $7.

Proud to say that X calls were one of my top trades last year during the summer for a great 5 day play. Got a load a little above 20 3 to 4 days before earnings and then held through and sold upper-25’s. Also played it for Trump but not as well – wimped out a little and didn’t hold it long enough. That said – is concerning that Gartman likes it. Some slight redeeming news is that he said the same about 8 percent lower three weeks or so ago.

Impressive was Gartman’s brother Kass bragging last night on twitter that he was short TSLA when it was 207 last night after its release and making sure everyone knew it was on his RM pro short list. When it gapped and started to run in the morning – I googled his twitter account and sure enough he had erased the tweets that said he was short. Nothing short of disgusting.
He did the same type of thing going short SPY and short banks during the summer of 2012 again and again and the tweets would disappear. Some traders called him on it and he said it wasn’t true. They threw out some screenshots to prove he was a liar.
Ha, I missed the $X train, but this afternoon I sold my long-term calls in $NSC that I bought many months ago (thanks OA). I’m not sure they were fully ripe yet, but the profit was too much to ignore any longer. What amazing timing.
I don’t think even Trump can make Gartman great again.

$CMG story – both my daughters work at a local Chipotle and make $10/hr (both under 18). At that price, they can’t keep enough workers in the store. They are constantly busy and seem to be having great traffic all through the day. Not sure if that helps/hurts, but I was pissed that they are making more than I did when I was working in the oil field back in the mid-90’s
I thought i was hot shit getting $8 an hour when i was in high school. My first “career” job after college was only $12.50 an hour….in 2005.

When price to book value was around 0.3 in US steel no one cared. Now it’s almost 2.5 and Dennis the idea… lol

Ford was around a buck after the 09 crash. I regret missing that to this day. US Steel at $7 is going to replace that. Even at $15 i couldn’t pull the trigger because i was mad about missing sub 10. Now it’s long gone.
I remember my co-worker at the time bought Ford in 09 going on and on how it was ridiculously cheap. He dropped like $40K in it…made out like a bandit. I had no money to invest at the time
it pays a dividend of $0.60 cents a year. Imagine that yield if he’s still holding the entire position. He’s getting $20k+ A YEAR. That’s the real concrete way to investment wealth.
i have tried to find opportunities for major dislocations that may lead to similar opportunities in the future. So I bought a good bit of $DB for long term, hoping a decemt yield in the future will offer a great return on the discounted purchase. I keep looking at $evep for that possibility as well. But I’m trigger shy as I can’t quite figure where payouts will settle on oil names in the future. I guess that’s intrinsic to the purchase though, no?
I remember being on vacation in FL in Match 2009 and hearing a guy by the pool saying he was buying 1,000 shares of $C a day. Looking back the guy hit the bottom perfectly. I hope he held.
