This is a waste. Nothing here is moving with purpose.
My best advice here is to watch and observe the market here over the next two weeks. $XLU is getting defensive today and risk stocks are still in chop and drop mode. If that character persists, then bet on volatility. If it continues to flash on/off…keep waiting.
Things are at a point where I can see set-ups gradually materializing. However, nothing is actionable yet.
Going to be a grinder. I’d try not to over trade, or over think here.

Yes I know, most of these are bullshit but, the run they had late ’13 into ’14 was out of this world.
Canada will be recreationally legal by Spring ’17 and as you probably know, 9 states are up for legalization of sort.
Looks like everybody’s getting stoned.
After that run in 13 I told these guys to wait and start playing them again this year, which we’ve been doing in patches all year.
Hard to engage here after all the missed movement…unless you see a good set-up.

I wanted to open this up to the group. I’m trying to help my cousin get started in investing. He doesn’t know a lot, and won’t have a lot of time to do maintenance. I was trying to build a 5 ETF portfolio that would have good sustainability without a lot of maintenance and holds in the 5+ year range. I want to tap enduring sectors and not $SPY (in case you’ve been following along with OA’s commentary and the potential prospects for those crowded instruments. I buy into that thesis). Off the top of my head, I came up with $PHO, $TAN, $HACK, $CNCR, and I was wavering on a 5th. I was thinking maybe $CWS, as I like Eddy’s work and that would generate just the right amount of active management I’m trying to steer him toward. I was going to teach him to add to select positions using basic dollar cost averaging every quarter.
Any ideas?
