THE PRO’S WERE LEFT “HOLDING HERMAN” ON THIS YEN MOVE

pantsdown

Yet another of the many observations I pointed out last year and early this year about correlations of now and 1998. I was guaranteed that the market would unravel as the USD/JPY collapsed this year, as I’ve argued that this wouldn’t change the outcome for stocks. Bloomberg tried to shed some light on how they missed this move, but I’ll throw out the same chart again to illustrate how this trade collapsed in August of 1998, similar to how it did in August of 2015. It continued to get blown up while the markets entered melt-up mode.

So maybe some of these pros are not really such pros after all.

I saw a stat that says “average length of experience” 8 yrs. Not old enough to appreciate history. Maybe that’s why so many were fucking fired over the last two years.

Some pros are smart and some not so much.

Wasn’t it Goldman about 4 sessions ago saying stocks lower next 3 months? Maybe they meant STARTING in 3 months?

almost every time there’s a coordinated outburst of definitive opinions like that the opposite is going to occur because they lie to us. Apparently that’s what God wants lol. Only better contrarian indicator is appearance of certain trolls suddenly on here

It’s great when your conviction play in TWLO pays off so quickly and handsomely. Awesome call.

Your insight into the transport sector did really help me figure out $FDX. Its a shame that I did not play it this week.

Sorry to hear. Yolo’s are best for fast stocks. Slow stocks, not so much. Time is your friend since it is dirt cheap.

Agreed. I used to buy 2 weeks in advance for $FDX, and used to do good on that.
The chart is too good to ignore, I am guessing 170 above it will go bonkers
