Futures pressing higher tonight in prep for Mutual Fund Monday. First of the month, and the first month in years where we’re at all time highs. Think that all the redemption money and those that cashed out this year looking for market calamity might have a change of heart this month?
On my radar this week is $HDP, $CMCM, $SWKS, $CMG, $STMP, $GOGO, $TWLO, $FIT, $GPRO, $FDC, $FEYE, $GWPH.

Proud to say I hit up X last week with calls similar to how many on this blog did – the author included – in the summer of 2014. That said – how about Z for earnings this week? Similar to X before earnings – seems extended and therefore “looks perfect for a short” when it probably is not. Also like X- it has been a fantastic year for the equity and it has heavy short interest.
My earnings trades have the qualifiers…consolidation of price, a nearby volume pocket, and cheap premium. If those three are in place, I’ll trade anything into earnings.
Do you think CRAY for Tuesday night has at least the first 2 in place? Has a history of moving big on earnings too – think the last big summer one was summer 2013 for around up 20 to 25 percent.
Looks like it only has one. No profile, high premiums.
That said – of course earnings is not until Thursday evening. Also looking to play TSLA on Thursday day after earnings with options in the morning after IV lets out – either calls or puts – once the direction is established.
I’m looking at PacRim: Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand and Singapore, they are strong.

I hate oil. I should have told you cats when I went long last week so you could have taken the other side.
What was it about oil though? You’ve passed on stocks, but what was it about oil that made you commit?
It’s right at bear market territory(down roughly 20% from June high) so I decided to go long.
I also own $LABU, that and $UWTI are my only two positions right now.
As a frequent trader of oil via SCO & UWTI, I exited my SCO position. I support OA’s position that this is a time for stocks.
You don’t foresee a bounce in oil? Need dollar to weaken.

But now I remember that I stopped trading this stock because you can’t polish dog shit.
