This year, I’ve had a lot of success tracking stocks/groups that have this same longer term pattern.
I started in on some $SPWR and $VSLR here today.

Relief rally into the election. I am a long term holder of First Solar.
I haven’t done well on these names as my timing has always been off in the options, so I made it easy and took $TAN in the 401k as a long term hold.
OA I know you were involved in VSLR pre SUNE you were a fan of the company how do you feel about them post SUNE merger debacle (in general) as a company?
Yeah, I had an awesome trade in $VSLR early last year. The company is a mess right now, and priced rightfully so…but it’s a good trade here I think.

I wan to buy FSLR above 50, short term calls.
That is the one thing that repeatedly fails in this market is buying up. I’m still not sure how some find that attractive in any way.

Up as much as I’ll buy…yup.
The most corrective thing I’ve learned from you over the last year is buy on down days and buy at the bottom of the trend, and even when it moves out of the trend briefly if you can catch it. Nothing as satisfying as quickly being up on a position and easy to manage break even at the worst.

Russell above June highs – waiting for December’s highs to be taken out for some real fireworks. i reallocated my 401K to be 40% small caps on Friday following the Brexit vote – should have waiting until Monday, but I like the results regardless so far
OA – Interesting to see TAN rally so much recently with oil fading. You think they diverge here?

Yeah good point. They were correlated from last summer through Feb but looks like they’ve definitely diverged.
For individual stocks SPWR looks like a pretty clear wedge pattern. Are you just thinking the ETF from here?

KMI is moving into its volume pocket…..looking good…
Ag plays getting some love. Still have a lot to prove before we can say it’s a bottom, but looks promising right now.

If it can get up over $25.80, there’s a nice volume pocket up to $26.80 on a short term chart going back 2 weeks. I’m watching it carefully here though. I want to see this thing stay up 2%+ for the day. If $22.75 is the longer term bottom, it will head back down there and test it.
MSFT banging on 53 – that was the highest level since the last earnings drop
OA is SPWR just a trade back to the 20 level or a longer term hold?
I was looking for a way to make some spare change and this market found be. It never pays to fight the tape. Conservative point and figure count on the recent reaccumulation base is projecting 2350 on the S&P. Hanging with this for now. Still have some hedges on though.
