this is one of the most uncomfortable 300pt rally’s I’ve seen. An uncomfortable rally is usually a good thing if you’re a bull but it feels like a fakey to me.

I did not read ahead, just went down the list. When I saw a short list I expected it to be small but was proud of you for taking the whole Market into consideration. Although it made me laugh, I would have liked to see at least one or two ideas.
GRUB, KING, CROX were three I have so far. OSTK, BWLD and KKD I also like.

Stocks are a lot like waves in the ocean. When you have a rising tide the tops of the waves are higher and when they break they are still higher than the last wave and on the outgoing tide the crest of the wave is lower than the previous wave. And then you have the Moon cycles and storms to contend with too. Be aware of all factors to not get surprised.

With oil dropping today and not confirming the market bounce, it’s telling.
As a result, I added significantly to GOGO short position just as it kissed and backtested it’s 50 day ema earlier today. As expected, it quickly got rejected there and it will close below it’s open barring any sudden reversal. Other than that, I have SLCA as a long position started today. 50% cash.

RGR should come in with good Q4 numbers, the new LC9s, the LCR and 10/22’s are selling like hotcakes. However, the SR-556 is still a drag.
It was that yield until the last dividend announcement. Per their investor relations:
“The Company also announced today that its Board of Directors declared a dividend of 14¢ per share for the third quarter for shareholders of record as of November 12, 2014, payable on November 26, 2014. This dividend varies every quarter because the Company pays a percent of earnings rather than a fixed amount per share. This dividend is approximately 40% of net income.”

A. book the trade and take all the money
B. sell 14 of the calls, take delivery of 100 shares and throw it away into the long term portfolio.
C. sell 13 of the calls, take delivery of 200 shares and throw it away into the long term portfolio.
D. roll all of the money into March $55 calls and ride her til she bucks me.

i just sold all but 1 contract for $8.45. 700% winner. I needed that so badly.
I’m taking delivery of 100 shares for a chunk of equity as a trophy piece. I took 100 shares of X earlier this year after that 1000% winner. Need a method of retaining winnings.

Matt- my novice view is unless you have serious conviction for more of a move, 700 percent is a very reasonable profit to take.

Really going out on a limb with that GPRO to $40 call. Just you and the rest of the world of that mindset.
Seriously, major cajones to make that call.
Zero shares available to short. Don’t try and point to this week’s divergence as evidence it’s going lower–it has been eaten alive by lockup sentiment. Understand its lockup is nothing like TWTR’s, as half of the shares hitting the market are concentrated in the hands of the CEO and his father. What if they don’t sell, and instead wait for what will no doubt be a blowout quarterly earnings announcement in Feb? They know they hold the majority of these shares and if they just sit tight a little longer, they’ll be able to lit the fuse on the 40% short float. This can absolutely soar under this kind of a scenario.
The sentiment is about the failures of their editing software. And the hit pieces that make their rounds on the Internets.
That $40 call on GPRO isn’t a bad call it’s the next support level I see also. Unless buyers step in here next week it’ll get there
Weekly charts of FB TRIP TWTR and YELP setting up for multi-month face ripping rally. FB is good for ramp to $120. TWTR could might be the real standout in light of the prevailing sentiment and relatively low comparable valuation to FB.
At first I read this post thought you were crazy. But looking at the weekly charts you may be onto something.
You always think I’m crazy…ringing the register on MACK…not liking the action in biotech space.
interestingly, on a comparative basis, TWTR is currently trading 1/10th the valuation of FB, if FB is going to trade $100+ ($300B+ market cap), one could justify $50B market cap for TWTR
