1090 in the Russell is the outer edge of this years range. This level serves as the first important reference point to manage positioning.
Earlier this week we discussed setting up a trade here. It’s possible this level might get rejected here today, and should be the upper end of how the markets consolidate and accept price.
If you are a bear, and think this market is headed materially lower, you have to take a swing here based on how easy this trade is to manage.
We’re going to develop a watchlist of 5 longs and 5 shorts tonight. Bring your top ideas.

Today was a conclusive blast of buyers that really took control and weren’t afraid to chase as shorts got squeezed out higher. A large percentage of stocks that were up were up big, and the more significant the measurement on the day, the more the bulls dominated. Yesterday was similar but lacked the vast number of stocks up 4%

Looking at doing a FCX 29/30 Nov call spread for a $0.64 debit with the idea of covering the short call if it dips closer to $29 or just hold it through opex if it stays up. Potential 56.25% gain if we close above $30 on opex.

it shouldn’t need to though. Rut has underperformed ALL year. it built it’s base and got the jump wednesday/thur…today should be follow thru AT LEAST on par with the s&p if the next leg up has truly begun.
