Sold all of my 20s this morning when it hit my $22.50 target at $2.30 for about 300%, but now these are $5.20. Bought em at .58. A beautiful day with WB and LULU for sure.

Alec, not every move is THE move. I was a bad trader when I looked at every move as the definitive one that breaks it down or explodes it to the upside.
You’ll know when the move is THE move. Speed and volume will dramatically increase. Ups and downs happen EVERY DAY to EVERY STOCK. It happens, it is normal.
As for GOOGL, I’m still in it won’t worry about it until my alert kicks in. Because I’m short on time with next week’s calls and just got into them today, I’ve put in an alert if it breaches today’s low. Not an order, just an alert to focus my attention there. No need to look at it otherwise. Let it work.

the 5 year (monthly) chart of PCLN shows a clear breakdown, but on the weekly/daily perhaps there is a play somewhere. Compare that with GOOGL and GOOGL still looks to be holding its longer term pattern

The problem is what is the catalyst for WFM? Lulu had earnings. WFM doesn’t have earnings until November. I don’t think this thing can stay range bound for 2 more months. I have a large WFM position, I am just trying to figure out what will drive this over the course of the next few weeks.

I’ve been watching this but there is just not much support below so it’s too difficult to do.
Sentiment is polarized. Disbelief by the public, discouragement by those that tried to buy in late 2013, and wall of worry by those that bought in early 2014. I suspect they lure in dip buyers here before a race to the exit happens so fast it catches everyone off guard. When the smart money that SOLD the mania by the public sees this they will buy the public’s capitulation as well. V-shaped bottom under $1000.
JDST but I’ll take the opposite. GLD is done until 2016-2017. Everything between now and then is counter-trend.

Rolling some into a membership Piker test run (not that I question the service, just my ability to use it on even a semi-regular basis with 2 jobs and an 12-month old), some into NMBL… and I grabbed a GILD yolo into the close, just for laughs. I sounded the exact same as you when I first started in options earlier this year. “Is it broken?” “Time decay is killing me!”
I found out the real problem was a) I was watching every tick, which I don’t do in other investments and it makes me do stupid stuff trade-wise, and b) I personalized every trade. Every win was a glorious celebration and every loss was a funeral. Balance is the key here, as well as finding your trading style that is repeatable, regardless of the ticker.

I’m about the last person you should ask on this board. Hopefully people with faster rising portfolios than mine – which probably all here are in that boat – can chime in as well. The people on this board are smarter than all of the brokers I had over my life, put together. For me, though:
1. Got one of OA’s services.
2. Bothered him and the others with questions to the point of stalking.
3. Found my own way of trading. I buy lesser out of the money calls than most here. I take fewer positions. I shrank position sizes. I’ve even instituted a stop a few times.
4. I’ve let others buy the bottom and sell the top. I’m usually better at selling closer to the top, but very poor at buying near the bottom. Just let others call those places. I need a bit more certainly and a place where I know I’m wrong.
How about everyone else?

Just think of it is an extraordinary rate of change. GOOGL had a 1/3 of its days in the last 30 where it moved, up or down, 1% or more. It’s not out of the ordinary for this to move at this percentage. The issue is with the option, not the stock. Time does have a big impact on our return. That is the part of risk we have to acknowledge and expect.

Yes I’m still in next week GOOGL 600s. I’m not worried because a fraction of my account is in this. Find a way to stop stressing, you are bound to do something wrong. The board often times tell each other to go eat a sandwich at time like this – get away from it. You have too much invested in this, in either real dollars or just the amount of time you are spending on it. Me, I gotta go get yelled by my boss now.
