Our watchlist this week is looking pretty steady – SUNE, FSLR, CMC, X, TRLA, etc. I’ve decided to add a few more low beta names to my plate.
I like Ford here, as well as TTM, NVDA, and NTAP. Looking around, there are some low beta stocks with historically cheap options. I’m trying to find myself a few deals right now in terms of cheap options that could really pay off with only minor stock price movement. We’ll discuss more of this during After Hours with Option Addict later today.
I think we’re still a week or two away from the point where the market speed normalizes, traders reach exhaustion, correlations start to die, and options across most instruments get cheap again. This was our recipe for amazing returns last year, conditions that haven’t existed at all this year.

This and $PAAS were my two choices for the stock of the year contest. I ended up going with $PAAS so of course it’s had half the return of $SWC this year.. Not that up 12% bums me out lol.

Great to see something like PBR is working – the environment is changing. This will be good to follow to gauge how breakouts are handled in this market.
$FIVE could be seen as aversion, decent pocket above.

$KOG started reversing higher on huge volume following last night’s earnings miss, I shoveled money into other Bakken pure plays– more $OAS calls (still cheap with earnings on Monday-very high risk/reward IMO); $TPLM common and $EOX common and calls (also reports Monday and has over 25% short interest; relatively cheap options too). Also picked up $NTAP and $BYD calls. I’ve been spending the rest of the day trying unload some of my high beta names
Coin flip here on FRO. breakdown or reverse higher, either way it leaves 3.30, but I’d play for a 200d bounce…and be out if that’s wrong.

I said it last week but it never materialized but the YEN has to be watched. If you trace back the beginning of the bull run in the S&P (end of 2011) it correlates with the collapse of the YEN. I think the YEN is setting up to breakout. The market is in a dangerous place IMO. My focus on the week is short the market, long gold and the YEN.
Bought the YEN here via JY futures. 0.981 Giving it a bit of room as I’m looking for a multiday move. Stops are in of course as these can leave a mark if it gets away from you. Good luck everyone this week, be back later.
Absolutely love this action. Thinking about May $73 TNA calls on anything below $68.50 today. Nice ol flush this morning, good volume buying to support the lows, now one more retreat should do it.
