Just curious – why not at least buy a dip ?
i entered a 1/2 position so if it comes down i’ll avg down to a full position. it’s at a pretty important level adn if it breaks out to the upside i’ll just keep my 1/2 position rather than average up.. but sometimes you just can’t “be a dick for a tick” according to OA =D

I feel like every win I get is equally balanced with a loss so my portfolio hasnt been able to make major upward movements at alll.. feels stale and boring and sad…
Your frustrations are not uncommon. However:
1)The level of excitement should not be based on results, ideally. Otherwise it means you are getting too emotionally tied to the outcome. This can lead to compulsive, emotionally oriented behavior that is destructive to trading results.
2)It may be perfectly normal that your account hasn’t made “major upward moves” and not a sign of you doing anything wrong. Just 1.5% per week can lead to over 100% a year due to compounding. No “major upward moves needed”. Boring? Perhaps. OR Perhaps your account is in a grind sideways to downwards and THEN you get a couple consecutive gains in a row that more than makes up for the sideways grind. But focusing on results or trying to force the issue will do you no favors.
3)It’s possible there IS a reason for that and you may be doing something wrong if your account is moving sideways to downwards when you have an equal number of wins and losses. It very well could be a problem later on once you run into a bad streak. That means either mistakes in trade management or money management. Having a winner for every loser is awesome trading if your net win is 2 or 3 times your net loss. If that isn’t the case you may need to cut losers more quickly and/or let winners run. Even if you are doing so, you could still have those kind of results if you are over trading and trying to do too much. Ironically having too many positions or too large of positions at some point can actually decrease your results. Focusing on managing fewer positions well at the same position size may increase overall performance. Sometimes less is more.
4)This post I just made also touches on some of the concepts mentioned and may help you understand #3 a bit too and perhaps better evaluate your issues even. When in doubt slow down.

5)I’ve been there. Just be sure that you use it as a reason to EVALUATE objectively and strategically, and re-examine your approach… Rather than as an excuse for doing something different just for the sake of not being satisfied with your current results.
doubled down on twitter dec $50 calls. Going from spec play to about 2/3rd’s normal trade size. heros or zeros baby. I’m sure in about a month when they’re trading for a nickel and i’ll be pissed, so leaving a note now that i’m a dumbass.
OA, although my account is relatively flat today. I have to post a win in your honor. I sold 3/4 of my ONVO Feb 7.5 calls for 700%. This is my first 700% win! I thank you and your community for all the guidance and positive reinforcement.
Still holding ONVO stocks for long term.

ONVO is a 3D printing “trash” stock. I know Jeff likes it, but it’s true. This move has been a squeeze.
It can be whatever you want it to be. To me, its another piece of paper up 140%.
Completely agreed, I’m long too. Just don’t want anyone to think that this a world-class company just because it’s up from 3 a year ago.

I thought he said anything below 41 was sketchy. Hopefully GRPN bounces back. I don’t know whether I should add more or snap up some TWTR Calls at a bargain. They seem to be deviating from the lines he’s drawn in the past TA videos… But with over 1 month on December options I think there’s more then enough time for recovery.
New lows were rejected, so far. I went below $40.76, which was Wednesday’s low,and immediately bounced on good volume. Consolidating here before a continuation upwards. At least that’s my call 😉

Thanks UncleB and OA. My exit plan is only when I take profit. I will buy down if I want to. I have lots time since I only trade stocks. Plus, these days I’m not really sure what is THE support. Even it broke, then rally back, and I feel stupid to have sold. So I just buy small, and keep buying till I make money exiting.
