What the article touches upon, but doesn’t go into depth about, is that electricity is skyrocketing because of the EPA forcing coal companies to either a. shut down entirely (20% estimated to be closing due to the new regs) or because they have had to implement new technology. Greenies love to ignore their fact that the Greening of America hurts the poor the most. They don’t care because most of them are not poor.
Or possibly there is a bit of truth to the saying that some industries need to be regulated in order to protect themselves from their own idiocy. See airlines for another example.

That is all true. I’d prefer free electricity given to us by mother earth. Tesla show this very clearly, but the robber barons who invested in electricity production and delivery would not have that.
I’ll pay higher prices if it means a cleaner environment.
