Bring out the bailouts – the basic tenant of “capitalism” . And we call the chinese commies HAHA
It’s not a basic tenet (not “tenant”) of “capitalism,” but rather a basic tenet of national socialism, i.e., fascism.
____________
Interesting, I didn’t realize America was a fascist country. You are, after all, blazing the trail for bailouts, pressuring other countries (Iceland, EU) into bailouts.
Re: your fascism definition. What bailouts took place in Germany from 1930-1945? Government spending on roads, rail and military surely aren’t bailouts.
The definition of fascism isn’t wholly inclusive of “bailouts,” nincompoop, but of a perfidious back-room relationship between government and a nation’s largest businesses.
It is in effect business-socialism, in that the gov’t derives it’s power from it’s allegiance to extremely large, competition-squashing cartels. Those cartels, or large businesses, in turn stay large and in control of their markets by the application of government power to limit their competitors ability to penetrate their markets.
By this definition, America has become at least quasi-fascist, and the predicament (see GM, Chrysler, AIG, the largest banks) has become worse in the last number of years not better.
In post WWI Germany, the Prussian government-big business cabal preceded even Hitler’s rise to power, although he certainly derived much of his latter control of Germany through the use of that partnership.
___________
Well said sir. I completely agree with your analysis on the similarities in cartel like behavior although I would point out that it is also very prevalent in food production / transportation / sale, as well as energy.
With regards to the noncompoop comment, in the future call it how you see it and say idiot haha.
I enjoy reading your comments and frequently learn from them.
Respectfully, TJ
And I apologize for calling you names. Like many New Yorkers, I was born irritated, but that’s no excuse.
______________
Capitalism, on the other hand, is about “creative destruction,” in which free markets allow innovation via intense competition between competing firms, who vie for scarce assets, including capital and labor.
Where, may I ask, did you obtain your education?
_______
No apologies needed Jake.
When you go out bear baiting you need to expect to sometimes get mauled. I do confess I infrequently enjoy posting simply to poke and provoke the more conservative readers.
