Since Plouffe said yesterday that employment won’t affect his 2012 campaign, I’m figuring he is late because he is trying to finish his speech whereby he proclaims that jobs no longer matter. Difficult spin, that one.
In the United States, we have evolved past the need for jobs.

Right now- let’s redouble our efforts:
Investing in re-building roads, bridges, railways (more spending required).
Right now give entrepreneurs market their job ideas by streamlining patent process (taking away rights of the inventor)
Middle class families need security of knowing tax cut I signed last December, will stay the same.
Got to reign in deficit- gov’t must live within means, while still making investments (more spending required).
Sooner markets know debt ceiling is raised that we have a serious plan to deal with debt, businesses will have less uncertainty. Globally, this will help as well.
We will work together to get things done. Ready to roll up sleeves over next weeks and months (means I’m going golfing).

Crazy. Academic elites have grown up in the “if you play you get a trophy, even if you don’t win” world where they believe all you need to succeed is a little ego-stroking. They have become so insulated by the media and Hollywood that they have no idea how wrong they are. It must be nice to be in a world where no newspapers, journalists, TV shows, and no one in Hollywood ever challenges your ideas.
