The Great Christmas Rally Has Finally Arrived

Hurray! Since late October I have been clamoring for a mindless stock market melt up, and it’s finally here. For the rest of this month, I demand fifty DOW points a day in no volume upside. This is my right as an American.

Please note the noticeable laggard of this Christmas jubilee; natural gas.

The price of natural gas has been bleeding. The above average warm weather is getting natty longs down, who pumped the price going into fall, betting on cold. Evidently these people can’t afford the $10 it takes to buy a weather forecast. But hey, that’s alright…

If you missed it, Michigan became the latest State to enact Right to Work legislation. Snyder signed that bill last night.

Personally, I feel the bill was a strategic mistake. Michigan is a pro-union state and this will come back to bite the overzealous conservatives who presented it. They did so largely on the (absolute) failing of the unions this November to enshrine collective bargaining in the Michigan constitution.

But just because this union proposal (Prop 2) was thoroughly rebuffed doesn’t mean the State’s support of unions has suddenly changed. A large silent majority of people in Michigan don’t trust Democrats or Republicans and they want moderate governance. Punishing Democrats by slaughtering their union doles will have a cost.

Plus today, social conservatives are going crazy in Lansing, stuffing a Christmas bill with wish list goodies. That’s not going to end well. (Social conservatives cannot be trusted with anything).

Still, I’m going to take a minute to revel in RTW, regardless of the outcome. It’s going to be an especially smug Christmas, as I have been given the greatest gift anyone could ask for. The gift of getting to blazingly mock those union sympathizers in my extended family at Christmas dinner.

I Throw My Hat In With Raul3

After looking through the crop of candidates vying for their place on iBankCoin, I humbly offer support of the 9th floor banner to the one casting mold under “Raul3”.

I do this because I feel he will work diligently and hard. Because I see from his posts that he’s putting a good deal of elbow grease into his studies. And because he’s active on Twitter – that place I go to throw eggs at union jackasses.

Now let’s get some democracy up in here like we’re crushing opposition tents at a State capitol building.

Back From Las Vegas

A cousin was celebrating a birthday this weekend, so he rather demanded I accompany him to Vegas.

I will offer a quick recap:

(1) no one wins against the house – by the end of the trip, I was paying for cigars (thick & dark), bourbon & gin (sidecars and Tom Collins are my favorites) and pretty much anything else I fancied in chips. This wasn’t because I had won a lot of them, but merely because it was the most expedient way to save them from the cold, heartless clasp of “Mother Crap’s Table”.

(2) NAFTA has destroyed America – enough about lower paying assembly jobs. There was not one prostitute walking the street. We’ve reached the point where even hookers have outsourced the non-essential parts of their job to Mexicans.

(3) Sin City has grown soft – I walked the entire strip, until my feet were aching and my thighs were trembling. And in this entire ordeal, I was only offered coke once. For shame, Vegas. For shame.

In any news, it’s good to be back, the abrupt changes to the site not altering that statement. I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Adieu, Jusqu’a Mardi

I must now take a small leave of absense from you, dear reader. For I have a long journey ahead of me; into a desert and to a land of debauchery.

I must go there, for two less half a fortnight.

In this time, I have elected to leave everything exactly as you see it now.

I hold AEC, CLP, BAS, physical silver, and oh most especially CCJ.

The dawning of CCJ is at hand.

To counterbalance this I have 25% of my holdings in cash, for a buffer and emergency. Which it will take, to get me out of the eventful weekend I have planned ahead, I assure you Madame.

But do not be alone. I have left a small fire burning in the hearth of the 9th floor. Let the ambers’ warm glow keep you company from the windowsill.

Holiday Smells Wafting Delicately

The Thaler family is coming to my abode this year; ergo footsteps can be heard hustling about, seeing to small tasks to make this house as hospitable as possible.

The Thaler family tree is something of an old willow; low to the ground and spread wide with long branches. My sibling and I have 18 first cousins. There are 13 second cousins at the moment. From 9 families of Aunts and Uncles.

About half of them will be in attendance.

To feed this gathering, we have prepared two turkeys, eight pies, platters of vegetables and fruits, and enough mashed potatoes to fill a used whiskey half barrel.

For all the meat that’s needed to subdue appetites, we tend to experiment with different recipes each year, to keep things interesting.

This year, I will be preparing a turkey with a cinnamon glazing. My sister is making a larger bird with a more traditional, woodsy fennel dressing.

Have a very resplendent Thanksgiving friends.

Please, leave a recipe in the comments and let me know what you are all doing. I always like and appreciate new ideas.

Explosive Moves In A Sloth Week

I don’t feel much like displaying energy today, so I’ll just muddle through some talking points.

Oil prices are coming in. I don’t know why they ever ran higher. There’s not going to be supply disruption because of Gaza.

It’s unsettling, watching pictures coming out of the warzone. Particularly pictures of these Palestinians dragging that Israeli sympathizer around on the back of a motorcycle; they’re just kids mostly. That’s what that conflict has been reduced to – all the Palestinian men are dead and gone. Their orphans are now waging an endless conflict with no end in sight. Israel won years ago. It’s time to accept that and move on.

I lucked out buying into RGR yesterday. It’s a wonderful Thanksgiving week surprise – immediately after the close, same day, they announce a massive special dividend. Today, it’s soaring. Still deciding if I’ll hold through the December record date or not. Chuck Bennett likes it, so that’s a plus. But, I haven’t done any due diligence on the name. I literally just threw a dart in celebration of a week of feasting.

BAS is asininely undervalued. Ragin Cajun informed me in The PPT that it is now on one of the old lists belonging to the late Alphadawg – contributor extraordinaire from iBankCoin’s early days – predicting an imminent bounce.

BAS has been hammered, but meanwhile natural gas prices continue running higher. They’re a gas services company, that makes no sense. Higher gas prices are going to push more business their way.

CCJ can’t catch a bid, ever… There is little here to tell. If you own this stock, it’s because you believe the supply and demand of uranium are completely out of whack and due for a foundational movement. Otherwise, following fundamentals or technicals, there’s just no point.
