I had a successful day and made a lot of money — even though I did this, apparently, my trades do not count in the scheme of big data and the law of averages.

In spite of all this, I am presently positioned in a 50% weighted holding, the likes I haven’t done in probably a decade or more. I cannot recall the last time being so overweight. It is not my intention to hold this longer than a day, maybe two. It is my intention to have a bit of fun with it and entertain the masses with my incredulous acts of boldness and depraved sense of greed.

I actually think Oil Stocks may be at or near a cycle low. Lots of culling in the oil patch recently and more of a focus on cash flow means production won’t be growing as fast as before. It may take time to play out 3-6 months, but Im starting to go long XLE here.
I also think going long volatility will be a huge trade when 2020 hits.
Ok, but how do you go long volatility?
Simple approach: buy TVIX or other ETF. Howevr, VIX futures are so high that you’ll bleed out in a month with no spike.
VIX options are slightly better if you don’t go too far down the calendar and if you use spreads, but still no great.
Vertical option spreads may pay out, but they are expensive OTM and low gain (not useful as a hedge) ITM. Calendar option spreads are very risky because VIX options are European style
