Ransomware Attack is Further Proof that Microsoft Sucks

The windows operating system is a complete disgrace to the human species. Anyone who supports MSFT by purchasing their shitty products deserves to be afflicted by malware that fucking demands payment in bitcoin.

If this massive cyber attack has proved anything, it is this.

1. Bitcoin is going to be banned by the regulators. It is the preferred currency for illicit activities and a threat to central banks. It will fail.

2. MSFT is a shitty product. Buy an Apple.

Also, Proofpoint has been all over the news, trying to help stop the attack. This could be a tradeable moment for cyber security plays.

Fuck Microsoft. I left them after windows 98 came out. Get froggy to come and explain that POS with me.

Uncle Sam is propping Microsoft up. The US government is the single biggest customer. I recall countless stacks of unopened PC boxes lining the hallways of various agencies and they still buy more every year. For fucks sake military units are using Windows NT to network their systems. Can you say “maginot line”

post 9-11 one of the first things government did was shut down informal ways of sending money between countries. banks and western union made a fortune. bitcoin has made sending money easier then ever.

You bring up an interesting and worthy topic regarding bitcoin. I think bitcoin == internet in the good vs bad, and over recent years I’ve given a lot less of crap about protecting ‘freedoms’ around those areas vs stopping horrible from doing horrible things with tools that just seem to make it incredibly easier.

That is to say that I think large parts of the internet and bitcoin are more than worthless drivel, I think they’re proving to be highly damaging on an individual and societal level many times by enabling the very worst type of people, and I now care a lot less about protecting their ‘freedom’ than I used to.

Don’t overlook the fact that these attacks focused on un-patched machines. In a corporate environment, patching is up to the folks managing the machines. If C-level doesn’t fund and enable IT to accomplish this mission then they will suffer (as they are). This would hold true whether MSFT, AAPL or any other OS.

People always demanding backward compatibility and Microsoft caving to their demands made them suck.

Apple is no threat to micrisoft. Linox is the threat to MS.

Apple squandered the past 2-3 years of momentum. They need integrated enterprise software, enterprise servers, a microsoft office competitor, software as a service, retool their development environment, web services. The ball is sitting on the tee and they are focused on copies of their iphones and watches.
