Trump’s pick to chair the Council of Economic Advisors is a’globalist’, who espouses views that are antithetical to what Trump was pitching during the elections.
Per Axios:
The pick to be the next chair of the Council of Economic Advisors, American Enterprise Institute economist Kevin Hassett, breaks with the president on a couple of key issues that helped Trump win the presidency:
China: Hassett warned in 2010 that bashing China-U.S. trade policy would bring the U.S. back to the downward spiral in the 1930s.
Globalization: “An absolute prerequisite for long-term economic growth is full participation in the global economy and trading system.”
Immigrant workers: [E]conomic growth could expand significantly if immigration in the U.S. were expanded.”
The bigger story here, however, is the fact that Steve Bannon’s Breitbart is now in open revolt against Trump. The comments sections are overwhelmingly negative on him, dispirited from feeling betrayed over the Syrian strikes, in addition to a sundry of campaign pledges that have, thus far, failed to get any traction.
How much of a shill is Hasset? His predecessor, Jason Furman from the Obama Administration, thinks he’s a solid pick.
Kevin Hassett is an excellent pick. He is serious about substance, committed to dialogue, & knows how to navigate DC. I wish him good luck.

The Financial Times summed it up, saying ‘nationalist forces have lost some ground when it comes to economic advice reaching the President.’
Expect Bannon to be out inside of 60 days.

This is pretty weird. Did the Cia get Trump under some mind control or something
Apparently Trump is back playing Trump 3D ME chess —
On the 9th of April, Tillerson spoke to Face The Nation on CBS, where he appeared to back down from regime change and even detailed, quite accurately, the folly of such a policy, the kind he endorsed three days earlier and the kind Nikki Haley endorsed on the same day as Tillerson’s interview.
During the interview with John Dickerson of CBS, Tillerson spoke of America’s apparently re-discovered opposition for regime change in Syria in the following way,
“I think, you know, obviously, the United States’ own founding principles are self-determination. And I think what the United States and our allies want to do is to enable the Syrian people to make that determination. You know, we’ve seen what violent regime change looks like in Libya and– and the kind of chaos that can be unleashed. And, indeed, the kind of– of misery that it enacts on its own people.
I think what we’re hopeful is through this Syrian process, working with coalition members, working with the U.N., and in particular working through the Geneva process, that we can navigate a political outcome in which the Syrian people, in fact, will determine Bashar al-Assad’s fate and his legitimacy”.
Tillerson then appeared to endorse a political peace process for Syria rather than violent regime change, he even said that Russia ought to be involved.

Russia is the reason Assad is propped up enough to retain control over Syria and to keep butchering his people. Russia involved in the peace process for Syria? Ridiculous. They are the main obstacle to peace in Syria. If they would pull out of Syria, it would have gotten ride of Assad a long time ago, and Assad is the chief source of violence there by far. I know, Russian propaganda says otherwise, LOL.
