AN OCTOBER SURPRISE

ChessnWine was as cool as a cucumber during last week’s decline, further proof that he is worthwhile of your attention and investment in his premium products. Apparently, the economy is doing better than expected. As such, stocks are ripping to the upside. Only thanks to my stubbornness to self inflict financial wounds am I benefitting from today’s gorilla run. Had I listened to my urinal shadows, I wouldn’t be +1.6% right now.

Nevertheless, it appears the somber days of last week have ended. Once again, the Cocaine Gorilla Raping Train to Hedonism is running at full speed, fucking everyone in its way!

As for me, I have several meetings today, pertaining to matters of compliance. I intend to hold everything and enjoy the fruits of my lamenting, vis a vie higher equity prices.

This was in the charts. not much of a surprise to me I posted I bought long on Friday before the close. We never came close to breaking the up trend channel in the S&P.

I’m ready. Closed my shorts and VXX on the 26th, went long metals and yelp on the 27th. The market provided the bears an opportunity last week, and like derelicts, they let it pass by. Back to slapping those losers with hot slices of pizza in the face.

Yes, I would be much less inclined to trust judgements made during the harvest cycle of the moon.

The reason for the strange behavior of everyone over the last weekend was the harvest moon. Full moon is an event where more crimes are committed, more hospital patients are brought in, and people are generally more hostile. Harvest moon has too low of sample size to draw anything conclusive and any effects could perhaps just be seasonal, but if the effects of a full moon is because the luminescence of moonlight creates a “lunatic” effect on the psyche, then a Harvest moon, being the point in which the elliptical orbit is closest, perhaps it creates “even more” insanity. Perhaps reason October is volatile month is effect of this… Or perhaps it’s a coincidence caused by something unrelated. But the harvest moon.

October is the month when everyone needs to relax, but nobody does, courtesy of the harvest moon

it’s funny how everyone says “oh no, the dollar is fiat”…
oh, you mean like every other currency? and yet the dollar has world reserve currency status unlike all other currencies. It is ugly, but not as ugly as the euro or the yen

Tempe Az ISM was a huge beat, but Markit PMI for USA and the world was just a hint to the upside over the Europe Vacation August. No great global anything imho. Please Wake me up when SPX 1100 is hit.

Program note: No meat at Panera is worth eating. Nothing wrong with a good sandwich, but get it at an Italian or Jewish deli instead.
