Let’s just put it on the table, shall we? Howard mentioned it earlier this week.
Is Steve Jobs, CEO of [[AAPL]], sick? We know he had pancreatic cancer, that he hid from shareholders for 9 months. God forbid, but if he is sick again, AAPL will take a severe hit.
After all, Steve is a fucking genius. Without him, Apple is just crapple.
In other news, I just got back from Dunkin’ Donuts. This one had a drivethru. It always amazes me to see the assholes line their cars up, 10-15 deep, in order to get a cup of coffee. At the same time, “The Fly” abruptly rushes into that God forbidden “coffee and donut shop of satan” and gets his large iced coffee, within 2 seconds. In others words, get out of your cars, you lazy fucks. Damn people are fat and lazy in NYC.
Regarding the market, I like AAPL here as a short, thanks to the “Skinny Steve” trade. And, I will add to my [[FXP]] and [[FTK]] positions.
Also, now it a perfect time to do some homework, trying to identify the next [[LEH]] or [[FED]]. You want to sell short these fuckers when they’re up, not spiraling down.
God willing, I will be able to buy [[SKF]], under $115. However, for some reason, I do not think God is that kind.

The program buys have been at 12:00 the last three weeks.
Before that it was 11:30. I ck the market from 11:00 to 13:00 just to be safe. I don’t think RIMM is dead yet.
;
Check out TMCV. The recommendation came from a MM who said their balance sheet is clean and strong, and that the takedown of the stock is due to guilt by association. Thoughts?
Every year there is a skinny steve trade.
fat and lazy is in no way limited to nyc
Every year you say?
I am calling you a liar, right here, right now, Sir.
“get out of your cars, you lazy fucks”, why not just make your own coffee, you lazy fucks.
Fly what about your old friend SMN here?
SMN is the instrument of the devil.
Never touch it.
It is one heck of a money looser [sic].

here is last years Skinny Steve trade.
The lines at the drive in for Dunkin Donuts gets crazy here. It snakes around the Home Depot parking lot and causes a few accidents when cars try to get around.
On a second note- Stop showing Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson all of the time at the US Open. My son’s friend Pat Sheehan is leading and I haven’t seen him hit a shot on TV yet.
CCOW is a California exposed bank, but not sure how much loans the did. They are based in the central valley where the shit is really hitting the fan.
CCOW = CASH COW = OXYMORON
Mr Fly,
Do you like donuts with your coffee?
and one from 2006
http://news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-6103427-7.html
Donuts are for pigs.
Hey Fly,
You possibly know this but you are a rare genuis. Only so often would I praise anyone this lavishly, but my friend, you earned this, and with the cool demeanour – godfatherly like.
Ok, now the reason – FTK. When DOW is down 200, this baby is up, in a crappy market it keeps on getting accumulated. I hope it finishes the day on HOD, but picks like these make everyone here tolerate the ‘internet leeches’ (possibly true) tags.
Now, get back to work
Banks are the buy of a lifetime.
Don’t believe me. As Jana Partners. They’re a 10% holder of FED.
I know, I know. FUCK JANA.
i miss the wretchedness that is dunkin donuts. seattle doesn’t have anything close to it.
i agree about the SKF. i’m begging traders to take up the financials, so i can get in that before goldman screws the pooch this time around. that would be a true gift from god.
Couldn’t agree more, Dick. I just bought shares of LEH myself this morning.
To cover my short. Bwahaha!
Had a limit order to cover. Market actually gapped down below my limit, and gave me the shares at $21.35 while I was in the shower. Niiiice.
Being neither fat nor lazy, I never use drive-up windows.
Aris: Yeah, Seattle actually has good stuff — like Vivace, Vita, Verite, Victrola, Stumptown and Zoka. (Starbucks isn’t real Seattle coffee. It’s only good for fucking around and giving them a latte name.)
just so you know, Pancreatic Cancer is one of the nastiest when it comes to treatment and survival. It’s not something you bounce back from. Survival rate over 5 years is something like 5-10% at the most (been a while, but used to deal with a PC organization).
blowhard go read the thread from yesterday, Jobs had a rarer kind that is actually operable and survival rate is better, about 35 to 50 percent, I think. He did survive the operation and it was years ago.
BTW He does not look like a dying man to me, or even a very sick man. He looks older, tired, and very thin from his extreme diet, but not dying. I’ve taken care of several people until their death or close to it (hospice) and that is not what a dying person looks like.
Agreed. I’ve worked with a lot of dying people, too. I can tell you from experience, Jobs doesn’t have enough holes in him to be dead yet.
blowhard:
(The rest of the speech is pretty rad if you care to read it, anything that mentions Steward Brand is awesome in my book)
And what about the morbidly obese Balmer trade? When that Beluga whale’s heart finally pops, so does the stock.
Sadly, Amy Winehouse will probably be dead from an overdose long before Steve Jobs dies.
Wow, blowhard. I had no idea it was that bad.
Just looked at Pancreatic.org. The survival rates haven’t improved:
Survival Rates
According to the American Cancer Society, for all stages of pancreatic cancer combined, the one-year relative survival rate is 20%, and the five-year rate is 4%. These low survival rates are attributable to the fact that fewer than 10% of patients’ tumors are confined to the pancreas at the time of diagnosis; in most cases, the malignancy has already progressed to the point where surgical removal is impossible.
In those cases where resection can be performed, the average survival rate is 18 to 20 months. The overall five-year survival rate is about 10%, although this can rise as high as 20% to 25% if the tumor is removed completely and when cancer has not spread to lymph nodes.
Based on the above, Steve Jobs already died. However:
Another prominent media figure that Swayze can look to for hope in his battle is Apple Computer co-founder Steve Jobs. In 2004, Jobs was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer. Rare in that his was a less aggressive type known as islet cell neuroendocrine tumor. It is not known if this is the type that Swayze suffers from. Jobs initially resisted conventional medical treatment, according to Fortune Magazine, but later opted to undergo surgery that successfully removed the malignant tumor. It is reported that Jobs did not require chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
Jana was a pump and dump. Somebody pulled the same shit with DSL so they could unload their shares before it died. Fuck FED and the scabby 3-legged horse it rode in on.
Amy Winehouse is such trash.
True, but I think Erin Callan is kinda hot – just me I guess or I haven’t really met her – just a picture. How bout a fat Icahn trade? Either he wins in the next couple of weeks or it will be a looooong time.
AAPL about to crash, The Fly is god.

It looks like the program buys were flat out selling. Not any put action. When I see the VIX go up and selling I will buy more inverse ETF’s ASAP.
haileris, yes! i’ve spent many hours at vivace. best in seattle, imo.
dunkin donuts is crap coffee, which is why it’s so great. plus the experience of being treated poorly.
ah ok, thanks. I don’t much follow Jobs and since i have no position either way in AAPL, good news if he’s ok. Like i said before, i used to do some work with a PC organization and it’s a pretty nasty cancer that doesn’t get much attention because of the amount of people it affects and can often times lead to other cancers as well.
just covered half of the skinny steve trade and will go eat pasta and carbs to celebrate
hahaha Howard, eat some for Steve Jobs too.
Steve is getting thinner by the second.
is somebody trigger happy on the karma button?
That’s Fly. He’s the karma police.
The karma chameleon.
Boy George? Surely not.
Does Jeremy keep track of total Karma standings on all posts on iBC? i’d love to see how that stacks up.
Howard is a firm believer in karma.
RIMM also collapsing, but luckily am still short.
Aris – It’s too late for that. (Sob)
couldn’t agree more on going inside while fatties refuse to leave the confines of their beater vehicles. most times, far quicker.
btw i just noticed Dunkin Donuts’ theme is “America runs on Dunkin” .. no wonder the flab keeps adding up.
one note: that’s a lot of God references for a trading blog. wish you luck mixing the two.
