I’M A $TSLA BUYER

To sell TSLA down 70% because Elon Musk is allowing free speech on Twitter is like selling BP back in the day for accidentally almost destroying the Gulf of Mexico. It was unfortunate and the seagulls were unappreciative —- but they got over it. And you will get over it too, the hatred for those who do not censor and let just anyone get on Twitter and voice opinions.

Whilst I know it’s important to adhere to state doctrine and dogma, there are other factors that go into running a business. We already know growth is slowing and the economy is in the shitter. We should expect stocks to trade lower for at least 6 months, if not longer.

HOWEVER, in my view, when dislocations occur so does opportunity. I cannot tell you how many times over the past 30 yrs trading I thought to myself and out loud “THIS IS IT, THE BIG ONE. WE ARE GOING TO CRASH NOW.”

And to be honest, that shit really did happen ever time: we crashed.

We crashed in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2008, early 2009, a little in 2011, 2020 and again in 2022. Yet in spite of all of those crashes, enormous wealth had been created over that time period and stocks eventually rebounded and reached new highs.

Therefore, with that spirit in mind, I made my second of 12 tranche purchases of TSLA. I can’t think of a more disruptive force multiplier than Musk. The stock is in the dumps and that’s a good thing — because I’ll be dollar cost averaging in for all of 2023 and hope to see these purchases bear fruit by this summer.

    Musk admirer here
    Hope your right
But prefer to think of TSLA and Musk as separate entities … and TSLA is over valued , competitors are surpassing them ( especially internationally) , their pipeline is non existent .. where is the cyber truck I put a deposit on in 2019 ?
..now if I could get shares of Space X .. then I’m with ya ( not that you should give a shit if I am or not)

Tesla’s value is not where one expects. Fly is correct and will be proved so I have no doubt. Tesla’s value is in the data that they collect, possess and apply; Tesla harvests about 95% or all real-time road user data. Telsa will out-perform as electric vehicle adoption expands and EV technology advances. Right now there is a pause; but will resume again when the economy comes out the other side.

One, perhaps underappreciated, hurdle for Tesla is how the DC mafia has poisoned international markets for them. The Chinese, for example, are now highly motivated to make sure that no piece of critical infrastructure (e.g. cars and the data that cars now collect) is beholding to the good wishes of our armchair warmongers.

Long LI …at least until they make owning Chinese stocks illegal.

Something I point out whenever I hear people trash Musk and TSLA: the guy figured out how to send a rocket to outter space, then landed it upright on a floating fucking barge in the middle of the ocean. Im pretty sure he isnt dumb. He will sort out both Twitter and TSLA.

I’m an admirer. And he is a well-connected player who likely knows how far he can go without getting whacked. Still, Chinese sales are down 44% month-over-month and down 21% over the same period last year. TSLA’s paying the price for our crazies and I see zero sign thus far that rationality is breaking out in DC.

The thesis requires one man’s heart to keep beating. Not saying I don’t appreciate the man, nothing could be further from the truth.
