Hard take for some of you MAGA-retards. You blame a sleeping man for everything — but meanwhile in the real world Trump enacted all of the stimmy bullshit and the vaccines and the never-ending spending that only seems to increase. Everything that you blame Biden for — Trump started. How about releasing your favorite rapper from jail? Trump did that too.
No matter the President, the policies remain the same. Our deep bureaucracies almost ensure nothing ever changes quickly. And now we have, for whatever reason, purposeful inflation.
Oil, cotton, natty, coffee, and soy beans are all up double digits in 2022 already. With this backdrop, why would you play another sector in the market than those fitted to profit from this?
Fertilizer costs are through the roof and this will inevitably lead to less supply of food, a vicious cycle playing out in slow motion on purpose — and Jim Biden isn’t awake enough hours in the day to do anything about it.
I’m 150% leveraged long now, mostly commodities, +2% for the session.

BUT WOAR!!!!
War was just a distraction to shake the weak hands out of their stonks.
Whether it was or wasn’t isn’t the point.
I’m referring to Fly’s call.
Trump started?
Try Bush, as he kicked off all this asinine spending.
This is true. Biden is a continuation of Trump’s policies of both trade (Yellen is beating her head against a wall trying to get rid of the tariffs) and domestic policy (Trump supported even the stimulus that failed in the Senate). But I wouldn’t say things always stay the same either. Classic conservative positions of small government and hands off approaches to business are all but dead, as is NATO.
I think there’s a major realignment happening around US policy, and with the notable exception of the wokes we’re all becoming more isolationist for one reason or another. Spending priorities, culture, war exhaustion, policy of foreign nations… whatever the cause it seems to be happening and importantly it’s not just the results of one guy. It probably will not go away because of one or two big swing elections either.
If you stake your money on the world looking like the 00s here, I think you get swept away by the tide.
Pete Buttigieg wrote a tweet today about how maybe if supply chains are such a problem we should make more here. I could find no fault with it.
If that’s what Republicans and Democrats agree on, that’s what’s going to happen.
Except that the government becomes more embedded in production (e.g. native soil semiconductor production ‘supported’ to the tune of $50B (current legislative proposal); and a ‘forever subsidy’ no doubt expected by the ‘corporations’ that aren’t really anymore)
True but at this point it seems like the choice is American politicians embedded in American production versus American politicians embedded in Chinese and Ukrainian production.
Pick the turd you want to eat and scarf it down.
Talk much? Too much??? Um, yes on both accounts.
Please tell me, seriously, why you seem to believe that your many words matter to the rest of us.
Serious question.
Both parties have been fiscally irresponsible. But Biden/Pelosi/Schumer turbocharged the spending well after it was no longer necessary.
Larry Summers and others warned *at the time* that Biden’s “American Rescue Plan” would lead to more inflation. Then for good measure Dems spent ANOTHER $1T on “infrastructure”. If it weren’t for Manchin, they’d have spent another $3T+ on new entitlement programs.
Say What! I say, I say, I say WHAT! 🙂
Joe is awake enough. How about starting a victory garden, curing some horse manure, drinking caraway seed coffee as the South drank during the civil war (it’s why they lost), converting your car to burn vegetable oil…..you’ll be fine.
Hello…the issue is the Federal Reserve and has been since 1913.
Fiat currencies have an expiration date.
As a practical matter, the Fed could not have expanded their balance sheet to the extent they did without the deluge of Treasuries which were issued to pay for Congress’ profligate spending. We are now in full MMT mode.
Yes, and the ending won’t be pretty.
The FED is still printing money Right now, with 7.5% inflation. Explain that.
