Why, Bill Gates’ backed CVAC is down a mind-boggling 85% from its high and Moderna, wonderful Moderna, is down 65% from its highs, in spite of so much coercion to drive business directly to them.
Has there ever been a more controversial group of companies ever? It’s a Tale of Two Companies, with about half the people praising in sycophantic adoration the virtues of a “vaccine” that does nothing to stop the spread of a virus that kills very few outside those immune-compromised and the other half forevermore believing these companies are the spawn of Satan himself and should be stopped no matter what — at any cost — because they’re evil and such insidious entities cannot be permitted to breathe.
In total, MRNA related vaccine companies have lost ~$500 billion in market cap from the COVID hysteria highs.

People on the twitterwebs are getting real excitable about used car prices so I’ll just dump on their hope now.
No, used car prices are not declining. My guess is they’re looking at auction data and auction prices always fall off a cliff at the end of December. This in no way is a forward indicator of where prices are headed and in the last three weeks – adjusting for conflating factors like vehicle condition – used car prices are right back where they were. This happens every year.
Now there is some case to be made that the rise in used car prices is decelerating and they will stop adding almost 2% per annum to CPI, which is good. But that is not the same thing as used car prices going down. And indeed as long as the chip shortage persists I don’t see that happening.

In local hospitals, the pattern remains the same since the Delta wave. With the Omicron variant, limited staff and facilities are still being reassigned and repurposed to treat COVID patients. Three groups still dominate the COVID ward: the old, the immunocompromised / immunosuppressed, and the unvaccinated young and middle-aged.
Considering the strain on hospitals that continues to compromise or disrupt health treatment and the relative cost, it’s simple to see why a state or province that provides health care for its residents would encourage vaccination.
Sure there are other ways that individuals can reduce the odds of being hospitalized for COVID, such as maintaining a high or elite level of cardiovascular fitness, but imagine the general lack of compliance and resistance to lifestyle changes requiring a daily investment of time and energy.
