In the subpoena, delivered in recent weeks, Mr. Mueller ordered the Trump Organization to hand over all documents related to Russia and other topics he is investigating, the people said.

Some people think that collusion means that Trump received something from foreign nationals in exchange for monetary gain, or maybe the *Trump Campaign* was working with Russians. While plausible, I don’t think either of those happened in an obvious (ie, provable without a reasonable doubt) kind of way.
Instead, Trump, being of low moral character, eager for finacail gain, and willign to skirt the law (“Not paying taxes makes me smart”), probably engaged in some illegal transactions prior to 2016, most likely with Russians or those friendly with Russia. Putin knows these secrets, and probably threathened to release proof. So rather than Putin makign promises to Trump, I think he is blackmailing Trump. That is why Trump seems so scared to say anything bad about Putin.
Mueller is following the money. We’ll see how well Trump’s accountants are against the FBI’s and IRS’s.
