Putin’s game plan was to mess with the US election and damage Hillary so she would be a less effective President. He seriously underestimated the stupidity of the American voter, which combined with the corruption of Fox “News” and Hillary’s poor campaigning handed Trump the victory.
He will have to show strength now to counter any responsibility for helping to create this situation.
How does someone whose brain doesn’t even work show strength? Well, he often tries to fake strength, and that did work at one time with almost half of the voters. I guess he’ll keep trying to fake it.
