I dream of a day when nuclear bombs rain over my city like some of you pine for winter snowflakes on Christmas eve. As risks mount and Donald Trump increases our nuclear bomb capabilities, I imagine a world rich in uranium getting mined like mad — people running about the boulevard with toxic natural elements in their hands in search for fame and fortune.
I shall take the latter.
Adding to my nuclear bomb thesis, long $UEC from $1.04 (yes, I’m up 35% since I moved on her like a bitch), I bought $URG — the runt of the lot. I did so knowing it was risky and very likely to result in beastly losses. But I did so nonetheless.

These uranium plays will end in tears for a lot of folks. U demand is not going to change short/mid-term. Even if Trump convinces Congress to do something re: nukes or nuclear power, any change to U demand would be 8-10yrs out.

Hated and regulated and political and manipulated is uranium like gold but we actually need uranium. There isn’t enough Natural gas to go around to replace it so if electricity is wanted…nuclear is the future. (coal also exists for the purposes of electricity, in great quatitity so it would probably be a good idea to nurture both industries simultaneously…to make both safer and better).
Germany has committed to decommission all their nuclear power plants by 2022. Only a tiny fraction of Japan’s nuclear plants have restarted since Fukushima, and local opposition remains strong. The U.S. has closed more plants than we’ve opened in the past decade.
Nat gas, solar and wind are replacing nuclear.
Go read up on how expensive it is to power a home via PV in Germany, as the large co’s were granted huge bennies to convert to solar power. That left the homeowners holding the bag and their dreams of energy independence in tatters.

Really a moot point, considering I had 25% of assets in gold miners. I needed the tax loss. Immediately upon selling the gold and covering shorts and selling bonds, I put 100% of that account into UEC — which is up 35% since then.
