The military-industrial complex is doing just fine these days with upwards of $700b annually spent domestically on defense and another $40b in weapons sales to mostly third world future enemies — far outpacing all others — because that’s what we do.
France came in second with $15b, then the evil Russians at around $11b, followed by the dog eating Chinese at $6b.
Our top customers could all be found in the oil rich Middle East, with Qatar at $17b, Egypt $12b and Saudi Arabia at $8b.
God willing, they’ll crush all of their enemies, both domestic and abroad, with our space aged weapons.
There is cause for alarm, however. Global arms sales did drop in 2015 to just $80b, down from $89b in 2014. Third rate tyrannies only purchased $65b in human killing weapons, down from $79b, as an ISIS inspired peace sweeps the area.
The report, “Conventional Arms Transfers to Developing Nations, 2008-2015,” was prepared by the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service, a division of the Library of Congress, and delivered to legislators last week. The annual review is considered the most comprehensive assessment of global arms sales available in an unclassified form. The report adjusts for inflation, so the sales totals are comparable year to year.
Constraints on the expansion of foreign weapons sales are “due, in part, to the weakened state of the global economy,” wrote Catherine A. Theohary, a national security policy specialist at the Congressional Research Service and author of the study.
Among arms manufacturers that also are NATO allies, Germany has found success in marketing naval systems to the developing world, while Britain has done the same with warplanes, according to the report.
The most significant overseas weapons sales for the United States last year included new agreements with Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qatar and South Korea.
Over all, the largest buyers of weapons in the developing world in 2015 were Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Pakistan, Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq.
In the year’s to come, there will be plenty of wars to be waged and fought. Some good old fashioned US military equipment will ensure a successful outcome.
If used correctly, you too can takeover and control vast swaths of oil rich lands — just like ISIS — some of our preferred clientele.

Fly, are you listening to Sargon of Akkad on YouTube at all? Wondering what you think of him.
Never heard of him.
Sargon seems pretty sharp, I like him.
Indeed! The Fly would like him.
USA business plan ..
1. take over 50% of tax-payers monies for the Pentagon military-industrial complex
2. vis CIA, intelligence services, create disturbances, wars, regime changes all around the globe destabilizing vast swaths
3. Sell weapons to terrorists
4. Sell weapons to nations to defend against terrorists
5. Create most evil (Russia)
6. Create NATO and sell weapons to NATO countries
7. Install puppet President to further the above and to be weapons broker extraordinaire (Obama)
8. Rinse & repeat
Juice, I disagree with #7. There is no need whatever to install a puppet president. Regarding weapons, the president does not matter, if the Deep State is what rules, as this article and these 2 books claim. If so, the military/security/industrial/financial complex does not work for the pres. The pres works for it.

The American Deep State: Wall Street, Big Oil, and the Attack on U.S. Democracy (War and Peace Library) Oct 30, 2014

There, of course, is sometimes a president, who thinks that the Deep State works for him, not vice versa. If you do not remember your history about this, google John F. Kennedy and see how that worked out for him.
If the The Deep State is really who rules, regardless of the president, then the Deep State people are laughing their butts off at how easy it is to Divide and Conquer people who disagree as to their preferred choice for president– how easy it is to make them insult and hate each other so much that they could never cooperate with one another to try to establish world peace and to end totally unnecessary wars. Because, if the Deep State is what controls the country’s foreign policy, perhaps it does not matter who is president at all– at least as far as wars are concerned.
per your words, Obama most certainly worked for the deep state. His best friend was John Brennan, the CIA director, who brainwashed him but good and was pulling his strings like a maestro.
I’ll check out your Bill Moyers vid but you should know that Moyers was unknowingly complicit in the JFK murder, as he was LBJ’s right hand man and told whomever was in charge to take the bubble top off JFK’s limo. I’m not sure if he’s ever spoken about it.
GW Bush ran on a platform of staying out of foreign conflicts. Obama voted against the Iraq War. But that didn’t make any difference. Nor did any move toward peace or against war in recent history matter, that any other president promised or did, before they entered the oval office. Have you never wondered why/how this keeps happening? If it is not because of the Deep State, then why does this always happen?
Everyone is so focused on the president– or actually focused on bashing the person who was defeated in the presidential race. Is there no room left in anyone’s mind to consider this? : That there may be things going on in the U.S. government that are bigger, and more important to focus on, than the presidency?
Or is everyone sitting back and expecting the Magic President to make everything come up roses, without you ever having to worry your tiny little head about solving any of our nation’s problems?
Here is an active movement meditation exercise, for anyone who may want to release their rage against HRC enough to think. Really, what possible use could there be to be blinded by rage against someone who lost the election and thus is going to have no power whatsoever over your life? This is good to do outside, if you can.

Osho was conman.
It seems you are getting there, regarding the deep state, etc. but not quite yet. Keep digging.
The arsenal of Democracy. The trouble we got into was actually trying to use it to bring Democracy to the Middle East. Well, that didn’t work out too good, did it?
I don’t know that the real reason was ever to bring democracy to the Middle East. That was just the public reason– the reason used to sell the Iraq War to the public, that is. The actual goals of the Deep State may have been quite different.
