Trump continues to prod and poke at the totalitarian left with his own version of rules designed to piss them the fuck off. I think it’s fair to say the vast majority of Americans would say burning the American flag, in light of all the damned sacrifices made by her best and brightest, fighting for the country, is just about the most disrespectful and disgraceful thing a citizen could do. The left argues that desecrating the flag, whether it be pissing on it or burning it, is our constitutional right. In a tweet out this morning, right after trashing CNN again, Trump called bullshit on said rights and offered a solution to the issue of desecrating the flag: jail time, fuckers.
Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag – if they do, there must be consequences – perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!

Trump has a point- 18 U.S. Code ยง 700 – Desecration of the flag of the United States; penalties. Whoever knowingly mutilates, defaces, physically defiles, burns, maintains on the floor or ground, or tramples upon any flag of the United States shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for not more than one year, or both.
I think a year and $100k is harsh. A month is probably more than enough to make people think twice. They wouldn’t be relegated to eating prison food, no social media, lives on hold, surrounded by people they think they are defending. Tack on a $10-25k fine and I think it happens much less. It keeps the act possible for those that are serious about it and stops those that try to be edgy.
