Chinese Water Torture: Wikileaks Released #Podestaemails6

Something tells me the finale is gonna resemble a fireworks display.

Here’s what I found, thus far. There will be zero coverage of this in the media.

Don’t have the time to read them all…just looked at the 1st 3 and, finding nothing, stopped.

    1. Not a fan of Qatar at all, though they have acted as an ally of US during Iraq War. But what does this prove?
    2. Intentional over reading of actual email content.
    3. As the email shows just forwarding a reference to an article written in Slate in 2014! So what.

If this is the choice pickings, there ain’t much there, there. Did you find any that actually land a punch?

Not a “fan” of Qatar?!? Do you have ANY idea of how evil that country is and the money they funnel to terror???

You think it’s ‘just dandy’ if a person in high federal office were to accept money from a nation like Qatar??

In an election cycle full of hyperbole and incivility I try to veer toward understatement. That’s particularly true when critiquing what at first pass looks to me to be a hyped up attack in the first place.

To be clear: I am completely opposed to the backward, violent strains of Islamism that seek to drag the Middle East and the world back into the Middle Ages.

But, Pirate, the date of that birthday gift was 2011…not 2014 2015 or 2016. Maybe they’ve done it again since, but that wasn’t shown. Not many folks were talking about ISIS in 2011. Maybe you knew about them then. But since it was 2011 as I wrote, “What does it prove?”

      Longview,

you said: ” 1. Not a fan of Qatar at all, though they have acted as an ally of US during Iraq War. But what does this prove? ”

      – Patrisan biases aside; you dont see any conflict of interest with a country making 7 figure gifts to the family of the secretary of state? This is the kind of shit you read about happening in Mexico between drug cartels and politicians and and when it happens there, nobody diputes that it is outright corruption. Apparently when the same happens with our gov’t its just a “neighborly gesture”. Seriously pull your head out of your ass man; this is blatant corruption.

Funny how CNBC, Harwood etc haven’t mentioned this story today, isn’t it? Imagine if you changed the name from ‘Clinton’ to Trump in this article? Can you IMAGINE how much coverage CNBC would give this?!?

Happy Brithday, here’s a million dollahs from your friendly sunni terrorist. If people had any sense the foreign donations would disqualify her. She’s putting other interests first over American interest.

I assume this is a representation of the most “juicy” of the leaked email. And really, where is the smoking gun? A government presenting WJC $1mm which will go toward coordinating the cleanup effort in Haiti? The “persuadable” middle doesn’t really care at this point.

As a Sanders supporter, I would have liked to see these emails prior to many of the primary contests– perhaps they would have made a different. However, since the self caused implosion of DJT, they are meaningless. It’s like slow-playing a pair of kings prior to the flop and then becoming upset when your opponent beats you with with a 7-2 off suit because the flop shows two 2s and a 7.

    Massappeal,

Where do you see anything implying the $1 Million dollar donation was for a Haiti cleanup effort? The email clearly states that its a “birthday present” for WJC…….seemingly gifted well after 2011, because the gift is referenced in past tense referring to a past year. Something tells me that Qatar was looking for special consideration from the US gov’t in whichever year the $ was actually gifted. Its funny though, that Qatar didnt gift the money to the U.S. gov’t itself, the money was instead gifted privately to Clinton.

The email makes reference to desired investment in Haiti, but you are correct that not explicitly linked to the $1m in question.

    https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/8396

Date of the email was April 2012. Did you actually look at it?

$1m promised for his birthday but seems clear that was intended to go to the Foundation. I understand you may not believe there is any difference, but Clinton Foundation has been vetted as a legitimate charity. Again I understand you’ll likely disagree.

If the $ was meant for the Clinton Foundation then it would make sense for it to be categorized as something other than a “birthdy gift”, no?

The implication that it was meant for Haiti in any way is just laughable. Haiti’s president himself made a public statement that very little of the charity $(worldwide, not just Clinton) actually made it to the people or Haiti’s infrastructure, “Vice News” had a good piece detailing this a few years ago. Further, Haiti’s president made claims that the Clintons had a part in skimming a lot of that charitable $ meant for Haiti victims.

Now heres just a little logical speculation: There is another wikileaks email that discusses Hillary Clinton’s brother being involved in gold mining scams in Haiti. Couple this info with the Haitian president’s claim that the Clinton’s were skimming and i think we can make some educated guesses as to what the Qatar $ is for. In the Wikileaks email, Qatar asks Clinton about where to “INVEST” money in Haiti, coincidentally this is in the same email where Qatar promises to give a “$1M birthday gift to WJC (William “Bill” Jefferson Clinton)”. So appying just a little bit of logic do you think Qatar’s gift and request for audience was:

      A) Qatar just really couldnt figure out how to make a $20m charitable donation to Haitian victims and desperately needed Clinton’s advice, and coincidentally also wanted to give a seperate “birthday gift” from the prior year (what kind of person let alone country gives Birthday IOU’s?)

      B) Qatar wanted to “gift WJC $1M” so he could tell them exactly where to invest their $20M in hopes that they might be well positioned to be on the receiving end of an onslaught of charitable $ flowing in to Haiti. For example, maybe WJC could inform them to which Haitian businesses/”charities” might be the future recipients of large charitable grants or have the monopoly on large gov’t contracts to provide health related goods/services to the local population?

I mean with Red Cross and other large prominent charities being so easily identifiable, the only logical conclusion for Qatar is surely to gift $1m just to pick the brain of Clinton and get some insight on his favorite charities. If this is all just charitable giving, why didnt Qatar just cut a check for $21M to the Clinton foundation? Why specifically seperate $1M as a birthday gift and earmark $20m for Haitian investment?

Heres the answer key to the multiple choice question above; the answer is that Qatar PAID Clinton $1m in order to get the dope on where the Charity $ would be flowing and allow Qatar to get in front of that train and make some guaranteed profits. You have just been enlightened. You’re welcome

I gotta ask though, are we looking at the same email — I just mean that in a couple of places here you conspicuously cite as quotations passages [ “birthdy gift”,“$1M birthday gift to WJC (William “Bill” Jefferson Clinton)” “gift WJC $1M”] none of which are in the email I am looking at.

I feel like I missed something important.

I saw that the other day. LOL. Most on this site will dismiss it. Putin can not believe how lucky he is. There is only one winner in this election – The winner is one comrade Vlad Putin. The right in this country, blinded by hate, is adding legitimacy to the Russian press. UNREAL!!! As biased as our media is, I see Trump supporters on every panel on CNN and even on MSNBC. I see very few, if any Hillary supporters or just even Trump skeptics on the other media outlets. Nevermind the real far right conspiratorial Alt-Right (De-facto Trump PR machine) media. No matter the outcome, some 30% of this country will for the foreseeable future get their news from Russia. Reagan must be turning on his grave.

Those quotations cite the same email we are all looking at. The quotations simply denote an excerpt from the email without having to cite entire sentences. For example, the source email Clealry states that Qatar will be delivering a gift “promised for WJC’s birthday” in the amount of “$1Million” to “WJC”. For the sake of brevity, i just included them all in one quote. It doesn’t alter the point or take anything out of context in the source email, so I used shorthand for the sake of all of our time. Would you prefer if I had used formal citations? I would love to hear your counter-argument asserting that my “conspicuous quotations” in some way alter or take the quotes out of context. You havent bothered me at all.

You quoted the word ‘gift’ 3 times. It is not anywhere in the email. It has an important connotation that I think you read into it, and maybe reasonably so, but it isn’t actually there. To me what it describes is a presentation of a check for the foundation, not a ‘gift’ to Clinton personally. Again you may think 6 of one, half dozen of the other, but I think there is a distinction.

Now I’ll never have $20m to give a way, but if I did I would probably want to know where it is going. I don’t think that suggests front running.

Anyhow, clearly we’re not going to convince each other on this, but I appreciate that you don’t take offense at my take on it.

“Present $1 Million Check that Qatar promised for WJC’s birthday in 2011”

-Above is the exact quote. Maybe we are from different cultures. In your culture; what do you call an item of value that is given to a person in celebration of their birthday? Where I’m from we call it a “birthday gift”

Luckily, this would be easy for Hillary and Bill to clear up. If this was indeed a charitable Clinton Foundation gift; Bill & Hill should be eager to provide the cancelled check showing the $ was deposited in Clinton Foundation accounts. A unique opportunity for the Clintons to prove that the Wikileaks and right wing assertions of pay to play politics are bogus.I wouldnt hold your breatg if I were though, there are already other documented “gifts” from a variety of nations to the Clinton’s revealed in previous Wikileaks document dumps.

Clintons and theor supporters can try to spin this all they want; but the American people arent stupid. The people see the corruption going on; its so blatant now that it’s really silly to even debate it.

I do believe we are from different cultures. I disagreed with you, but I think respectfully. Where I could agree with you I tried to point it out. I even tried to acknowledge where I thought you could very well just see it differently than me.

I tried to stick to the facts that I could identify and not drag all my considerable baggage into it.

I don’t think you accorded me the same courtesy and respect.

          Different culture.

Sorry to hear that. Some cultures are more sensitive than others, I suppose. No offense meant. I was just presenting the facts. I’ve heard that to some, the truth can hurt. I’ve never been that type though, so I cant relate. Regardless, all the best to you.
