Jim Grant on the Fed: There’s No Need For Inflation

Look, it’s late and I’m tired. I’ve written and published 40 articles over the past two days. I can’t even begin to think about what this bow tied man just said in the video below. Since young, I’ve been brain-washed into believing that an acceptable level of inflation, approved by my overlords, was good for the economy. Now Grant enters the fray, being all smart and stuff, telling me the Matrix isn’t real and that everything I’ve known my entire life is a lie.

Quite frankly, it’s too much for me to bear.

At some point if inflation is real, won’t I need a mortgage to buy a pack of gum,

The Fed wants “good” inflation. You know, the kind that reflects some money printing, but not too much evidence of money printing. Abolish the Fed.

One should never utter the word “kerfuffle” unless one wears a bow tie.

There will be new forms of growth target mandates in the new order. Fooflation, and Duckflation will be primary to maintain. While Yoloflation underlies the balloon index

OK, China set the Yuan Fix weakening the Yuan. Yes it is stronger then the night before. BUT it is weaker then where the Off Shore was trading after Yellen lost all credibility. Australia missed on NFP data, RBA will be on hold. We are still dealing with a strong AUD/USD though. Yet, China Shanghai Futures is only slightly up on most of the commodities…Oil is actually down there. With a sudden drop in the dollar and this is the best the Bulls can do? For China Govt, there is A LOT of room now to weaken the Yuan every night…so they will.

Do not know man. They are floating it. Like bad debt but the payments keep coming. They are paying. Somehow or whatever. But the check is in the mail again.

China can’t keep it up, they aren’t using the massive stimulus growth thing anymore…structural reforms is now their thing. No need for massive commodity buying or speculating anymore. PBoC is going to pay off those bad loans, but they are not going to cover all the off shore bad loans. Yellen is trying to keep the party going and imho lost so much credibility by backing away from a need to move rates up. Check in the mail…lol….only the bulls would get giddy, us bears say we will believe it when we get it in our hands.
